Ok, for those of us in the Detroit Metro area, are you going to take the $100 to let Roush perform emissions testing on your Marauder?

I can't imagine that they'd damage it, per se. But, but, they might scratch it!

Mine isn't going on the road until the salt is gone.

that was my question... why would they care to test emissions on a "dead" model

It's a probably a Ford project to determine how well the car is performing in the real world. I used to work at a Buick as a kid and GM called one time looking for a Opel Ascona to test. I let them have mine for the day and they gave me a loaner and $100 plus washed it. This was in 1979. I bet that the manufacturers check old cars even more lately.

hmm i bet $100 in 79 went a lot farther than it does now, maybe they should up the going rate

Roush tested my '94 T-Bird SC for emissions a number of years ago. Same thing. Car, $100 Bond, car cleaned. This is something that is done for independent verification of emissions. This is to see if the laboratory testing numbers for deterioration come close to real world numbers.
