Two weeks ago I have the stomach flu, hoorah. I get to be hooked up to an IV with two liters of salene (sp?) pumping through me, throwing up, and having a resting heart rate of 115 and get to feel it jump to 140 just by standing up. Now I get to have the respratory flu, where I sneeze, cough, have a runny nose, have chest pains, headaches, congested head, and have difficulty breathing. On top of all that my paychecks are dwindling to squat because I sit at home all day long.

Who else has had either one of these? Wha'd I do? Was it for telling my brother his 96 SS is a 96 POS? I was joking :censor:

I'm sorry to hear of your ill health, and I hope that you get over all of this soon. I do know from experience that respatory sickness is nothing to play around with. I had Pneumonia twice. The first time was 26 years ago, and the second time 19 years ago, and it's no picnic. Both times it started out what felt like a run of the mill head cold, and then continued to spread into my lungs.

I had to sleep sitting up, because every time I tried to lay down, I'd cough so much that my chest began to hurt. My left ear drum had also punctured and was bleeding just from the pressure from coughing so much. I couldn't even laugh w/out breaking into a cough!!! I was close to your age when I had that the first time, and I also used to get the flu every single year, and sometimes twice per year. What I've learned is, that to take mineral supplements goes a long way for prevention. So many people talk about taking vitamin C, but I've found that taking it in high dosages (anything more than 250 mg daily) does NOT do anything for me at all. But if I take a conservative dosed multi-vitamin once daily, along with high dosages of Magnesium and zinc morning and night, and I make sure that I stay dressed appropriately during the cold whether, and get enough to eat, then I usually don't get sick, and I don't get the flu despite the fact that I never get flu shots. Exercise goes a long way to that to.

But since you're already sick now, I'd suggest that you do what the doc says to do.

Also, just in case, I'll refrain from telling anyone their 96 SS is a 96 POS.

All joking aside, sounds like you've had a miserable time of it. Hope you get better soon.:) :) (both hawks)

Trick is to put fluid back in your body.

Juice is good, water is good, no soda :nono:

Hope you feel better soon:up:

Stay at home, heal. Paychecks are worthless if you come down with pneumonia. I hope you are under a doctor's care because it sounds like you need prescription meds. Follow your doctor's advice and ask God to help with the healing. I will put in a request on your behalf.:)

Thanks everyone, now my voice sounds like a robot...who invented these sicknesses? If I invented one I would have someone bark uncontrolably for three hours and be satisfied. *sigh*

My mom is an ER Nurse in Lake Geneva, WI so she gives me all the help I need. When I had the stomach flu my brother drove an hour to get me up there. A couple days ago my brother cut his thumb open real bad from a firewell or floorboard piece and he called my mom up to see if she was working :P He had to cut open and re-fabricate a floorboard/firewall piece to fit the big 7.3L Turbo Diesel Engine into our 72' Chevy 4x4.

Well, again guys, thank you, I'll be wh**ring up the boards today! :banana2:

Had this last month. Go to an MD and ask for a Z Pack (antibiotics); also prednisone (steroid) to break up the congestion in your lungs and head. It will last for three weeks. :(
