View Full Version : Quick Question: Unidentified hose

Just noticed it today when I was rechecking my rear sway bar and differential housing. There is a hose about 1/4" in diameter on top of the rear axle directly over the drivers side rear sway bar bracket. It sticks up from the axle about 8" or so, and then curves downward in a crook. Is this hose supposed to hook onto something? I looked but couldn't find anything that it would seem to fit on, and I didn't see an equivalent hose on the passengers side of the rear axle. The top of it ends up near (what I think is) the drivers side air sleeve.
Thanks as always for any info!

It may be the drain from around the gas filler port area.

It is a 'snorkle' vent for rearend. Keeps water out if you drive through DEEP puddles.

Thanks Dennis! Anytime I see an unconnected hose I start to wonder...:)
