It wasn't an even trade and I would trade it back in a second, even though it was something I always had my eye on. With the passing of my father I got a couple of his toys. One of which is this...

A mint condition 1986 Mercedes-Benz 560SL with <40k miles on it. It is flawless without a chip, ding or scratch. The engine runs like a champ and it even still kind of has that new car smell.

I'm sorry that you have lost your Dad. No words are ever enough. Beautiful car, but an awfully high price.

Nothing inherited from Dad is an even trade. I inherited my dad's restored 1952 Hudson Hornet. I'd would much rather have had him around for several more years. Enjoy the car, it will make your dad happy to see you in it when he looks down from time to time. Don't ever sell it...ever.

Best Regards,

David

Yep got back to town on Sunday. I'm bummed that I missed the meetup on Saturday. I was looking forward to it.

I plan on keeping the SL for sure. And sure enough it's blue too.

Hang in there guy......I know how it is to lose immediate family members since I've lossed three of them myself. But look at it this way...... your Dad isn't here to enjoy the car anymore, and had you asked him before he passed away about the car, I'm sure he would've told you to enjoy it. So just do what it is that he would've wanted you to do.....drive it, and enjoy it since you haven't anything to feel guilty about.
