Well I was hoping this would never happen, but it did this morning. Kind of a freak thing I guess. I was changing lanes, must have hit a slick spot, and fishtailed. I almost had it under control when I hit the concrete barrier next to the left lane with the rear drivers quarter. Rear bumper, quarter, trunk lid, and drivers exhaust pipe all screwed. I don't really know how it happened, it's been cold and wet, so there has been no quick driving lately. I feel so disgusted, right when I was getting to really enjoy having the car. Now it just seems disfigured. All I've thought this morning is why. I finally have a car worth the attention and this happens. I need to find a place to do some bodywork now. Would the dealer be the best bet?

Hey 03marauder,
Rats!Call the lexus dealers in your area and ask them who they (dealer) uses to repair damage. They will do the work so that no one will ever tell it was crunched.I hit a deer the first couple months I got Marauderitis,I took it locally( where the L/M dealer goes) and a year later it doesn't match by how glossy it is in comparison to the rest of the original paint.
lets us know how you do and yes it is ok to visit her on occasion while you are missing her;)

Bummer dude, It is snowing here and we are expecting 3-5 inches and I have 5 reservation for the Limarauder today and I have the OEM tires on it. I really hope that I do not have to post something like your story. If the factory tune for the tranny was not so F'd up I would not worry as much but the way it dogs then all the sudden downshifts is not good in the winter time. Yes I will eventually get a tuner from Dennis and snow tires but for now my only chioce is to white knuckle it take the OD off and hope Limarauders guardian angels can keep up. Let off the gas when changing lanes from now on and keep your chin up, thank God you did not total it.

:( So sorry to hear about the mishap. But it doesn't sound like you were hurt, and that is a good thing. Must have been like being in a slow motion nightmare. I have good luck with dealers in the past with getting paint work done. I have had to get a Benz done previously and my Nissan. The Nissan has metallic paint and thought they would never match it, but I can't tell where it was hit. Good luck!!

Humm, sounds like what happened to my wife. She got into a slick spot and fishtailed. She hit a concrete barrier, a sign, a 18 wheeler, and some other things. I hope you get it back and everything works out. BTW, is your MM black?

Sorry to hear this. I would take to the dealership first.

Yeah, it is black. I can't really tell how much damage there is. I don't see a kink in the fender at all, but the gaps on the trunk lid are all off. Drivers side exhaust tip no longer centers on cutout. Just hope there is no frame damage. I just want it back to how it was. Good thing is I don't think I will get screwed too much by insurance.

The guy who paints all of my grills does incredible body work on the side. He is employed full time at Van Drunen Ford in Homewood, Il. If your insurance is covering this, I also recommend Van Drunen Ford. I think you can even request him to work on your car.
Contact me if you are interested and I will get a hold of him for you.

That sucks man! Just got mine banged up and I feel your pain brother, believe me. No mention of injuries and thank God you are alright. That is the most important. Our Panther cars can take a pretty good punch and am sure everything will be back to original in no time.
Best of luck to you.
Mike.

I know how you feel. I had mine 3 months, got caught in a hail storm and got the holy hail beat out of her hood, roof, trunk deck and assorted pieces of trim. The body shop (dealer) had her for two weeks.
The withdrawal was tough. :alone:
Kept telling myself that there was a bright spot in all this gloom, I had been listening to some of my NTM friends discussing the factory paint jobs but had not seen any before examples so I wasn't sure if mine was that bad, but could see some trash in the paint and thought, hey after they repair/replace whatever they decide, they will have repainted about half of the car and then I can take it in and show them how bad the remaining factory paint job looked compared to the repainted areas. :tantrum:
Well, all I can say is, that body shop is excellent at restoring vehicles to their original condition. I don't know how they did it  but they matched that factory paint job to a tee.:shake:
Oh well, never had a black car before and am beginning to realize its the worst color for showing the impurities that are in it. Live and learn. :grad:
Oh, well so much for my :bs:.
Just hang in there, she'll be like a new car when you get her back. Then you can :burnout: start having fun again.

Well, I got info back from the body shop and the insurance company. The initial estimate was for a new taillight and repair the bumper cover, plus align trunk lid, and check the fenders. Well aftertaking it to the body shop and them doing there own estimate, and insurance taking another look at it there is more damage, which I knew. The rear fender or fenders are bowed, they need to repair the support behind the bumper cover, replace the bumper cover, and some other stuff. Additional cost was about 900$ more than original estimate, about 2000$ i think in total damage. The cool thing is that the place I took it to posts pictures of the work online, so I can check in. If the pictures are quality enough I will try to put some on here.
