Greetings....

Now if I am screwing this up vis a vis rules for sponsors etc... a simple :nono:
will suffice.... no sharp objects etc. please.

I am in contact with an individual who makes factory looking trunk lid liners. I was in contact with him back when I owned my Cobra. I have not seen the REAL product, only pictures. However, the Cobra owners that purchased them were very happy.

So I am looking for input.

First... anyone in Denver? If so please PM or Email me and I will put you in contact with the person. They would use your car to make the pattern etc.

Second... if no one is in Denver... can I get a confirmation that the underside of the trunk lid is the same between the Marauder, Grand Marquis, and Crown Vic (of same year)?

Finally... anyone have any ideas for what we might want on the liner?

I am partial to raised letters MARAUDER ....

Thanks in advance,

Sounds good, I'd be interested. I'm not in Denver, though.

Those are very nice looking..... I have no idea what they cost.

This one will more along the lines of the material that is in the Marauder Trunk already..... if it follows how they were done with the Cobras.

In the Cobra it was like the plastic fabric covered panels made by Ford.

God's Head embossed or embroidered into the material... sweet.

Not close in location but, would be very intrested. Even plain with no logo's would be an improvement. Always thought the lack of liner on the deck lid bottom was a little chinsey.

Well hang in there guys.... the "details" are being worked.... I would expect I will have some sort of concrete information here in a day or so. I know the volume of interest here will help me validate why the product would be viable!

Ok folks... next step....

I need HIGH RES Artwork of what we are interested in for the trunk lid liners.

Specifically will need HIGH RES of the GOD'S HEAD..... Anyone have that?

Anyone have the correct "Font" for MARAUDER?

You can email them to me... Looks like a local L-M dealer will allow the guy to test fit on one of their cars.

Hi; I would be very interested in two sets given that when my brother and I purchased our MM's, the trunk storage compartments were ordered with the wrong parts number and so they did not come with the lid or the partitions. The parts people said to order just those parts now would cost twice as much as the storage compartment itself. P.S.; I love Sierra Vista. I mobilized there for Desert Storm I. All the pristine old Arizona cars that the retiree's had parked at the local Denny's on Frye Blvd in the morning looked like a classic auto show.

Sounds like a great idea.

The trunk lid is a bit barren. Front matching ones would be nice as well.
See what you can come up with and ask the fellow to speak with Logan. There isn't a whole lot involved in becoming a vendor here.

Here are some thumbs of trunk lid liners I've seen.

Just to make sure we are the same wave length... this isn't a lid for the storage compartment... rather it is the under trunk lid liner. The Pictures Cruz just put up are like what I am talking about !

AzMarauder, were you going to do black? WHat about a hood cover to match if the price is right? He will be there anyway.

Let me know. Thanks, Greg

Greg,

I can ask if he can do black ...... as the pictures above show... they have more commonly matched the interior color of the trunk.

I don't know if he will do under the hood panels. There is a weather / heat issue there... but I will ask and see. Obviously I would like him to.

The under hood one would be nice for shows etc. I would have it in mine all the time under the hood. I thought Black with a silver Gods head and Silver Marauder would look cool. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks, Greg

Got some word on the liners....

Looks like the embossed type (Godshead or Marauder) will be $89 and the embroidered ones will $149.

Also... I think Wesman will be carrying them as well.

So looks like it is all coming together. Just a matter of getting a car from a dealer and doing the initial fit.

I will update you on the progress as I hear it !

Can you get them to do a matching hood piece also.

Please!

I think the guy said he would consider a hood liner depending on the prices of Supercharger Kits !

Just kidding.

I made our case that the hood liner would be very well received. He was positive in his reply saying literally (cut and paste from the email)

cool...I will look into it.

I'm the one that will be carrying the Hood liners...(wesman is the blue MM in Canada)

Scott will not do hood liners due to liability, as the material is not designed to operate in extreme heat conditions. We'll be getting something cooked up in the next few weeks.

thanks to all!

I've been off-line for a couple weeks. This has already been done for Marty's car...and is soon to be released for the rest of us. Large Mercury godhead above MARAUDER . I'll have pics of mine soon. It will be available in both an underhood liner and a trunk liner, using the same heat resistant/fluid resistant material. Stay tuned or go your own way if you'd like.

POSTED 12.05.04 (!@.05.04)

Details coming soon....but briefly...it was custom made by Car Motorsports www.carmotorsports.com (http://www.carmotorsports.com/) who will be in contact with Logan wanting to become a sponsor here.

What you see above in the first couple of pics is the underhood liner. This is a special heat/moisture/stain resistant lining that is custom cut to fit/wrap around right over your OEM hoodliner. The logo is stiched with unbelievable quality as you can tell from the pic with the detail on the godhead. The design that will be made available to the membership will be a much larger godhead, centered above the MARAUDER. It will still utlize the factory holes BUT Car Motorsports can supply upgraded push clips which look MUCH nicer and are more secure than the OEMs. You can also see a pic of the cover you get in the form of extra, heat resistant material that you may use while driving to protect the monogramed logo. It's just VELCRO'd on...you pull up to the cruise night, pop the hood...and unveil your MARAUDER logo!

The other 2 pics are of the custom trunklid liner that was made using a special "Weatherboard" which is VERY strong, yet light which is custom cut for maximum coverage of the Marauder trunk lid without any interferance to the opening/closing of the trunk. This is then wrapped in the same special material as the hoodliner. The whole unit is stategically held in place by some AMAZING, industrial-strength VELCRO.....so there are NO HOLES to drill.

I'll have more info soon and pics of the other design.

The dealer coughed up a vehicle so the initial test fit has been done. The guy making them was a bit surprised at the size that would be required.

I had to laugh and remind him these weren't Mustangs.

Hopefully we will see pictures of the first prototype next week ! Those ought to show up in WCHAIN's Innovative Interceptors forum.

I'd say patience.... but I have none myself..... so ... HANG ON ! :D
