MM.Net , I am in the process of completing an OEM quality Valet/Security light kit for myself. In so doing I am also pricing the parts out to build in small/medium quantities.

I need to gauge the potential market to get the best part pricing and decide whether I want to launch into this crazy operation. So please make a choice, if there is enough interest, I'll post details and such, it will be OEM quality, and my car will have kit 001!

This will be for 99 and up Crown Vic, GM, and Marauder.

Thanks

Sounds good. :D Will it be a plug into the wire harness or will you have to splice it in?

right now its splice, like the Ford kit. I have a Service manual on CD coming for the 03, but the connectors are hard to get, and very $$ in low quantity. Problem is you probably need to tap into one wire from each of three different bundles, so three conenctors.

I'll have step by step with photo's, better than Ford did it. Might include 3M tap splices for those who wish not to splice/solder.

thanks for the interest.

I have the Ford aftermarket kit on my car. I installed it myself and it wasn't that hard to do. The most time consuming part was securing the wire harness underneath the dash so that the fuses were accessible in case one blows, and insuring that the harness wasn't up against any sharp edges (there are a LOT of sharp edges under there!) or moving parts like the brake pedal assembly or steering shaft. But I do second the idea of including some connectors for splicing into the 10 guage "hot" and "hot-in-run" wires off of the ignition connector.

I said all that to say this: if you think you turn around now to look at your MM every time you park it, once you install these lights you'll be parking it just so you can make these lights go on. They are that cool. Really. :coolman:

Hey Shakes, I just recently got my kit or I'd be all over this. I was desperate for a while, then finally came across a member with access to one, (thanks again to that member).
This is a great opportunity you're offering to all the members for this lighting kit since they are simply not available any more. Worth $140, $150, $160, $170?? You bet! I paid much more for mine. This is a good deal, so hang in there. "If you build it they will come". lol. :)

Yeah, John was nice enough to part with his kit to allow me to reverse Engineer it. I owe him an install, might even try and add a trunk open based third light under the rear, how fly would that be!

ANyway, problem is the huge cost of the brackets and lights in low quantity. Not to mention me shelling out a few $K and being left holding the bag! This week will have me creating prototype kit 1 and 2, poweder coatign brackets, and test fit next weekend, and create the picture based photo manual.

work work work. :) And all this cause I can't get one anymore!
