I've been wanting one since they were a concept in '01 and now I'm a new owner of a 2004 Merc Marauder. It's a DTR 300A with all the bells and whistles. I've had it for a week now and still can't wipe the silly grin from my face.

Hapiness lies within... A Mercury Marauder! Congratulations and welcome to the "club". Be careful on this site though - it's too easy to catch the "mod" bug...

Welcome aboard. Judging by your name, you must be a "Steeler fan". Are you from Pittsburgh, too?
My guess would be in the drivers seat, with a big goofy grin on his face, making "VROOOM! VROOOOOOM!" noises:P
And welcome aboard!

I've had mine for 2½ months and still can't stop grinning and peeking in the garage every once in a while ... okay ... a couple of times a day! :D

Welcome aboard fellow union brother. By the way, that smile is permanant. At first people began to talk, then figured out the connection. My smile kept going on and on and on and on. By the way did you transfer from another plant?

Cool. My plant has made parts for both Wixom and Mich truck. Wise choice going back to Mich truck. I heard rumors of Wixom closing.

Welcome to the MM site. Enjoy your new ride. :D
Today I did enjoy the ride. Haven't really had the chance to take along trip till today. Rode up to Frankenmuth(about an hour and a half away) to the Snowfest 2005. I must say what an impressive drive. She rode very smooth, at least for Mich roads, so smooth I almost fell asleep. Power was there when needed, which for some reason seemed often as others wanted me to "open up", but I controlled it somewhat. I must say everyday I drive this car I'm impressed more and more. Too bad Ford failed to market it more or give it more umph. But I see otheres have taken care of that. I'm glad I got one. I can see this silly grin isn't going away any time soon.:D

Now that you've got one, the fun will start...
Don't lose track of where you are driving, but pay more attention to the looks you get from the people around you.
When you get behind an Impala SS, they IMMEDIATELY speed up to get away from you.
When you pull up alongside a Z or a Corvette, they will usually look over and give you the thumbs up.
When you pull alonside the Police, or they pull alongside you, they will almost always
ask you to roll down your window to ask a few questions about your Marauder.
Today, I took my Marauder to the wash, to get all of the roadsalt off,
and as it came out I had someone come over to me and ask,
"How'd you get a MERCURY with a FORD rear ?".
You can't really tell its a Marauder unless you pay attention to the bumper,
because its wearing its winter tire package, and doesn't have the shiny
polished wheels that scream "LOOK AT ME !!!".
