Magnaflow Exhaust Video

I put together this little clip to help folks that would like to have some idea what the 18" Stainless Magnaflows sound like, I also have Ford SVO shorties, high-flow cats, X-pipe all 2.5" to STOCK tips. I suggest right-click and save target to desktop. As many have said before, listening to exhaust tone on a video leaves out a lot of sound quality... made even worse with marginal PC speakers.

That being said, Smokie's exhaust sounds pretty sweet. The shorties must give more "whoosh" than the cobra manifolds. I've listened to his vs mine (same same except for the shorties vs. manifolds) on my HP Media Center and they definately sound different. The manifolds make a deeper / more burbling sound? I can't put my finger on it.

As having listened to a few Kook's setups first hand at Indy, that is definately the way to go if your wanting the meanest sound you can get... then again, stock exhaust with no mufflers at all sounded pretty dang tough too.

BTW, thank crownvic.us for hosting. As a contributing member over there too I'm afforded a little bit of bandwidth to play with.

You cannot really compare the two because Smokie's video includes the part at the end where you can really hear what the car sounds like going down the street while the engine is under load and the driver is getting into the gas pedal considerably. And that's precisely what everyone wants to hear when making an exhaust choice. However in HWYcruiser's vid, the driver really wasn't getting into the gas pedal very much at all when he/she pulled away. Thanks guys.

This is very true - I can attest to this due to a certain series of events which left me following directly behind your car @ **0 mph w/my driver's window down (cigar hanging out said window)! Sounds VERY nice!

Excellent, I've been looking forward to this kind of info. Now we need more sound clips, folks! Send them to me if you want, I'll gladly digitize them for you, if that's what it takes. I'm especially curious to know what the Dual-Mode muffler sound like, I know there's at least one guy on here with this setup.

And I've seen a drag-strip video of a Marauder with open pipes, but have misplaced the link. That's something I'd be interested in hearing at idle and under light load, just to see if I could slip it past my wife. ;)
