I was out at my Mercury dealer today having my Cougar serviced and spoke to my saleslady whom I've purchased 4 cars from directly and 1 more through her referral. She's always played straight with me. We talked about Marauders(what else would I talk about) and she said she has 1 black one left in stock and could order more for $28,900.00 as long as the price doesn't go up,this is after subtracting the $3500 rebate,there is also a $500 additional rebate available during the Chicago Auto Show if you own a Buick,Olds,Pontiac,or Cadillac and let them make a copy of the registration,bring the before tax etc. price down to $28,600.00 . In reality she is not cutting you a very good deal. I bought mine the first week of November. With a $2500 rebate I paid $29,250.

With a $3500 rebate and $500 bonus that is a $4000 discount - $1500 more than was available when I bought mine.

And she is "willing" to let you have for $650 less than I paid. That other $850 is going right in the dealers pocket. If you offered a flat $28K, I bet they'd take it. Others here have gotten that kind of deal.

I'm from Chicago as well, and I was quoted at 26500 plus tax and license charges. My salesman told me to wait for the auto show to start because I was going to get another 500-1000 off, so I'm sure that you could talk her down quite a bit. I'm just waiting patiently to finally get my Marauder!!!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
