Our MM's are known as 300A's and 300B's. Is it a coincidence the new Chrysler is 300C? Finda poetic... being third...:D

The 300A and 300B listed for Marauders, only has meaning to owners of Marauders, and to nobody else. Even most Marauder owners know nothing about the 300A or 300B, unless they read the websites like this one.
No hidden meaning with the Chrysler 300C, or any of the Chrysler 300's.
(Still looking :alone: )

From what I remember reading years back, the first 300 was a sporty Imperial with a hunky engine in 1955. For 1956, they called it a 300B because it was the second year. They kept at this until the mid 60s when a 'regular' non-muscular 300 joined the 'letter cars' (ie. you could get a letter car with the goodies or a regular run of the mill 300). I think they stopped the letter cars (and the basic 300?) sometime in the early 70s, like maybe 1970 (or 71?). They brought the letter cars back in the late 70s or early 80s for a VERY brief stint (maybe one or two years?) and then it was a BIG thing when they brought out the 'M' in recent years. Interestingly enough, I think the 'M' was the first 300 to span several years, since previously the letters incremented each model year.
Why did they switch to 'C' for this particular iteration of the 300? No frigging idea. The original 300C was (I think) boasting 1 hp per cubic inch so maybe there was some significance in using the 1957 model name.
As for poetic significance, well Mercury seems to have given Chrysler the go-ahead to use all the letters from 'C' onward, since it has 'F'-all to compete with the 300/Magnum now.
