SB, DTR, or Blue S-55 tails anyone?

Just wondering if anyone with an MM other than black has done up their taillights in S-55 style? Been thinking about doing my Silver Birch. If so, please post a pic, will ya? Here's my old black '03 with 'em.

Note that I'm NOT talking about just tinting the lights, like Petrograde in the other thread, I'm talking about painting the lenses with paint to match the body color.

I've never liked the huge tail lights on our cars. This looks like a really cool way to change it.


If you were to do it in silver, I'd be real sure to make the paint really opaque. Just because it'd look a bit silly if the silver lit up at night :)

I just put this up in the other thread, but here's a photoshopped DTR that I will be doing to my DTR CV.

I have a spoiler on order. When it comes in, my tails and reverse lights are going to be painted silver S55 style. I will also change the standard bulb to a hi intensity bulb or LED replacements to compansate for the diminished rear lights. I am also going to make the lower portion of the tailight operative.

Just paint the exposed areas with several coats of black first, then a light primer, THEN the silver goes on. No way the lights will shine thru all that!

Not tryin to pack salt into any wounds, but my WifeUnit, family account, keeper of the purse strings, has made it adamently clear that I can do any mods I want...no strings attached...Ok, I lied...it costed me a 10k new wedding set for her and a new 3k computer for her business/college use....BUT I CAN MOD AWAY ON THE MARAUDER !!!!
