Some info on possible mods for my slightly used 03. I am new to these platforms so I have absolutly no I dea where anything is. I have driven a thunderbird for the last 8 years up until someone stole her and wrapped her around another car.

I want to go with 4:10's. Is it necessary to upgrade the shaft also? Along the lines of programs is there one better than the rest and lastly, is there a benefit to the shorty headers made for the Cobra? Any information will help greatly.

First off--Welcome aboard --You have certainly found the Big House,,whoops, excuse me, for all the information you can ever need for your car here on this board--
First let me say --check under the "Search" button for your specifics
Secondly, most of us started out with what is commonly refered to as "stage 1"--chip, stat, plugs and gears (410-mostly)-- and then a tune to really set all that in true form----
So get searching or as you will surely find out, can't find it--just ask away--we are a friendly group willing to help --sometimes a bit overboard , but still help---and once again, welcome to the grin that hits both window sides at once....  ...............Tom

Shaft: I assume you mean driveshaft, necessary ??? do you drive triple digits for sustained periods ??? If answer is yes, maybe necessary, if you don't, not a must buy.

Programs: Loaded question, I had the Dennis Reinhart flash program and ran 14.49 @ 97.51 Temp/61* on just the flash. I know of NO ONE that has run a faster 1/4 on JUST a flash.

Shorties: I have them as part of a complete exhaust change-over, love the power & sound. There is also Kooks long tube headers and Cobra ported manifolds. Any time you improve the stock exhaust you will gain power; no matter what you choose. Good Luck.

What was said in a earlyer post about stage one mod (Chip or Flash,Denso Plugs & a 180 stat & 410's) is common and good .One really good mod to do is a Stallion 3000 Stall Torgue Converter. It will shave off about .5 too .7 tenths off your 1/4 mile time average. Take you time and read up.
