We'll some of you know, but most don't, I'm a Civilian Aide with my local Sheriff's Office. My normal shift is M-F 8a-4:30p, handeling paper work and taking front office paper reports, and everything else my Lt can think of. On of the SSM members, Ghost03, stated that he wanted to go for a ride-a-long with my department on my fathers shift. My Father is a road Sgt. in another district, so I figured that I might aswell go out on the road too, unpaid though. Ghost03 rode with my father, while I rode with one of his guys. I'll let Ghost03 post about his day, but here is mine. Line-up is at 6a we get the run down on the pervious days calls and anything else important. Then per training many people have been going to the range with have clean gus that a jamming so everyone gets their duty guns checked out. Ofcourse when they get to me, since I dont have a gun, I give him my gerber pocket tool to inspect. So line-ups done an while we're still in the district we get sent out to an alarm call. Turned out to be a false alarm. Durring the day we did a few traffic stops, one of them on a kid that had tire sqweel on start, so we stopped him and it turns out this 16 year old kid driving a Infiniti g45 coupe just got his License 4 days ago, so we cut him some slack, even though I think he crapped himself. We were dispatched to a call that a woman in one of our many elderly communities, Centry Village, ref a woman stating that her boyfriend had assaulted, but it turned out that she was suffering from alzhimers. She wasn't documented, so we took a report so she would be. Then later in the day we were sent out to a call of about 50-60 cars on a medium causing a traffic blockage. They were there for a memorial for some kid that was killed in a traffic crash. We told them they could stay, but would need to make sure that dont block traffic. We did about 6 loops around them making sure that everyone was safe and didnt go out into the traffic. These werte the highlights of the day, nothing really major but I' figured some of you would like to "hear" about it. I just hope Ghost03 had fun today, and also to thank him for Lunch. Rob you really didn't have to do it, but thank you again.

I look foward to seeing your post.

I had a blast. I have done many ride alonds with many different dept's but this one was different. Jumped around a few calls. Some lady was assulted by her husband and she walked across the street to call the cops. We responded and entered the home where the husban allegidly was. Home was clear exept bathroom ( locked ). Three kids were in the home alone andd the father nowhere to bew found. Turns out the father went to work leaving his kids all alone in the home to make it look like he was working at the time of the incident. The bastard ended up getting arrested. Assisted with the traffic tie up due to the memorial....Drove around Boca and enjoyed the scenery at Town Square Mall. AT the mall some Pshyco lady tried to enter the mall to exchange and item but security would not let her in so we assisted them with escorting her to the bus stop. She was about 5 cans short of a 6 pack if you know what i mean. The lady almost took off her shirt to show us what she wanted to exchange,....Thankfullly she didnt...The rest of the day was quiet and drove around looking for trouble but everyone was obaying the law.....Cant wait to do it again.....Bill My pleasure treating you guys to luch it was the least i could do....
