View Full Version : First scratch
I mentioned my little mishap with a tree previously, but I finally have the pictures.
I lived in northwest Ohio nearly all my life ... not one accident in the snow. Nashville typically gets about one snowstorm a year. (This year we got three.)
During the big one (8 1/2-inches) I drove to work both days. (Snow was all melted by third day.)
Second snow (3-inches) left main roads clear, but side streets were pretty sloppy. I managed to drive all the way to work and then lost control in a decorative s-curve entrance (all downhill) to the office complex. (Makes me want to get snow tires for next year.)
Thank goodness I missed the 40-foot drop in to the ravine, but I still broke my Marauder. $5,000 in damages, no personal injuries (except pride) and I've had to drive a Grand Am piece of *@!* for almost three weeks. (Not really a surprise on the last one, since all the body shops here are working major overtime.)
Anyway here's the pictures.

Ouch! Sorry! Hope you're O.K. and they fix her right. Marauder's and snow, lousy combination, but it,s better than moving to South America.

That's terrible. Hope you get it fixed right.
The decals are sitting in an envelope on my desk.
I'd just gotten them in mail and was waiting for a warm day to put them on. Thank goodness that didn't happen, cause they're going to replace my bumper.

Man, that sucks really bad! I feel for you.
Hey, i noticed you have personalized plates "maraudr", i also have the same plates. They are from nevada, that would make an interesting pic.
Hope the body shop can work the damage out.

YOW!
Thank goodness most of that area is empty space, you missed the gas tank filler area, and it looks like your left exhaust tip didn't even bend, so the frame shouldn't be racked... a new quarter panel, trunk lid, and bumper will hopefully fix you right up.

Ouch is right, hope they fix it up real nice for you. That one makes my deer hit look like nothing, then again your ding is nothing compared to that stolen one, everything is relative. Glad everyone's OK and you'll have the car soon.

Mad1, don't know if they have already repaired it and your on the road but look to see if they put on the whole 1/4 panel and did not splice it, a splice is visible from behind the trunk liner. It doesen't look like to bad a hit but should cross measure the rear frame rails anyway. Also check the passenger side's door gaps along with all the others back their.

That does seem serious damage, I had a '92 CV/LX that sustained likewise damage in that area, and State Farm totaled the repairs. You're lucky, and I'm glad you, or, anyone else, was not hurt.
Man oh man, the things some people do just to hug a tree...

A little warning please, before you post such graphic images.
I have a weak stomach, and there may be children present.
My son said; "daddy tires.."
Cruz,
Sorry about that pal. I'll put a blur out censor on the rest of the pictures.
Though I think living in Cleveland would enure your youngster to any further horrors in life. :coolman:
Just kidding. (I'm a native of Toledo myself, so I know what I'm talking about.)

Well it's already been three weeks. It's going to the paintshop right now. I'm hopeful to have it back by the end of next week. (Or I'll be very unhappy.)
