whoa ......I thought I was going to get flamed for saying thatI cannot speak for everyone, but as for me, I haven't any loyalty to one car manufacture nor the other. They don't have any loyalty to us, so why should we have to them? They all make alot of ugly cars now, and every once in awhile, I might see one that catches my eye. But that isn't often, and usually when I do see one, it's pricetag is close to, if not well over $100K which is way out of my league. One of the few exceptions to that rule was the Marauder (for me it was anyway) and that's why I've bought one. It's a V8 powered RWD car, and that's what my priorities are when it comes to choice of performance oriented cars. It had nothing to do with Ford vs. Chevy, or any of that nonsense. So that's my point of view. :)

Bravo!! Well said. In the 50s 60s 70s and even 80s Ford Vs. GM Vs. Chrysler was the rivalry that ruled supreme. Now in todays world of riced out pocket rocket crap running around the streets it's almost stupid for people to draw lines like that. I have no preference for one manufacturer over the other but if someone driving a chevy or anything else for that matter chooses to insult my vehicle because it is a ford, i'll give them a mouthful about their manufacturer. I used to think that the new battle line could be best summized as US (domestics) Vs. THEM (imports), but the more I look at it, that's not even really true any more. The only real sides I've noticed anymore don't seem to exist physically outside of the driver (him/her)self. You can rice out a Marauder, i would never do it, i don't know anybody who would, but it could be done. You can rice out a mustang, it's possible, my sister used to have one that was riced. It's possible to turn a Supra into a respectable vehicle, it's harder to do that with an integra or a civic but if i ran across a civic that wasn't over the top and had more than enough engine to back up what it looked like, then i would respect it. I think nowadays it's more how the driver carries himself. More important than the make or model is the mentality level of the driver i beleive and how he chooses to present (him/her)self to the outside world. Just my $0.02. Oh wait what was the point of all that again? Oh yes, welcome to the site!!!!!!! HAAAAAA just gotta love dancing produce!!!!

Bravo!! You can rice out a mustang, it's possible, my sister used to have one that was riced. That's an interesting point, because I've always felt that the riced out cars look like girls cars. The line I draw is the car must be a V8 powered Right-wheel-drive vehicle, and one w/out any wings nor fart pipe, nor huge letters across the windshield, nor neon lighs on the underside either. To me, all that stuff is for teenage girls.

Funny you mention undercarrage neons, my sister had them on her stang.
Yes i definatly do draw the line at fart cans and wings, W/O a doubt. Sometimes letters on the windsheild is not a bad thing if it's the name (like what you named it) of your car or something but when it is the make or model of your car you put accross the front windsheild i always have to alugh, it's like, did you forget what kind of car you drive? To me, it's all the mentality level of the driver. Some may disagree but think about it, the cars and drivers you associate with, would you associate with their drivers if you didn't know what kind of car they had? Corral.net, a lot of jerks over there, a lot of genuinely nice people, but a lot of jerks. I wouldn't stand with half of them if it came to a import VS domestic war because i wouldn't want them being a representation of me or domestics as a whole. People on this board, i have not met a single person on this board that i would not choose to stand with any day of the week, be it if i knew what you were driving or otherwise. That's just how i look at it.

Freddy,
Do you have the rear mufflers / reonators that came stock on the SS? If so, and you want to keep them, these tips at 26" long I believe will be too long.
If that is the case got to www.Flowmastermufflers.com and look up part number 15360. These are only 6" long and should fine behind your rear muffs.
Sorry Wes, I don't mean to rob you of business, just offering an option for a different application.

Funny but when you grow up in a Lincoln-Mercury Dealership (like I did) you do draw a line and it's not nonsense. It's a way of life so to speak.
I will agree that it is a "point of view" :P

I will agree that it is a "point of view" :PYou're certainly entitled to your opinion, but merely for the sake of discussion.....if you think about it, the fact that you grew up around Ford products, and always drove them isn't much of a selling point in favor of Ford vehicles since it might sound to some people as if though you've really known no other way but Ford vehicles.
Again, I'll speak for myself here, but I've driven foreign, American, V8 powered, rotary engine powered, 6 cylinder, as well as 4 cylinder cars, with even a few wrong-wheel-drive ones thrown in, and I have nothing but positive things to say about my overall experience of Marauder ownership. Yes, I wish that the car came with more cubes under the hood, but I can say that about almost all new cars today, including General Motors cars, and Mopar, and especially about foreign cars. And I've taken care of that original deficiency anyway.
What I meant by "nonsense" is how some people will knock someone else's car, or think less of it, for no other reason than it being a Chevy, or Ford, regardless of what engine option or body style it has. And that's simply blind manufacture loyalty. I don't get into Chevy vs. Ford debates or the like, because arguments from both sides are so shallow, and are based on blind loyalty. I think that's hilarious since none of the car manufactures have any loyalty to their customers anyway. So such blindness and loyalty is merely a one way street.

I don't care what make the car is. I grew up in mostly big honkin cars with big honkin V8 engines, so that is what I feel most comfortable and safe driving. I am six feet tall and weigh 240 lbs. - used to weigh 360. I just don't fit into most small cars, foreign or domestic. Not enough headroom or seating for munchkins. I want to feel the POWER when I floor the gas pedal, I want to hear the engine roar. I fondly remember when Dad bought the 67(?) Plymouth GTX with 440 cid, had Holley four-barrel carb put on it. That was a monster. Would lay rubber for a block and a half. Bought it cheap off my uncle who desperately needed the money. Got stolen when he took the other neighborhood dads to a football game. <sigh> I wanted to inherit that one. We also had a 65 Mustang V8, sold after wires melted together behind the dash. Had a 75(?) Chrysler New Yorker with a 400 cid V8. Hauled ash for a big heavy family car. Somewhere in there was a Dodge dart (red) V8, that was pretty darned fast too.
So you see why I just gotta have a V8!!

Look good but they SCRAPE
BillyGman
02-16-2005, 09:43 AM
that's why I'm keeping the tips on my car tucked under the bumper the way the factory did it. I see some guys having them installed so they're hanging out of the back. Yes, that makes them more visible, but also more prone to being hit and sc***** up. Especially if there's a driveway that's on an incline that you have to drive in and out of. ofcourse with the Impala, there aren't any half circle cutouts in the back bumper either, like there are in the Marauder bumpers, so that makes it even worse.
LordVader
02-16-2005, 10:17 AM
 You're right about them scrapping. My MM had a previous owner and he must have extended the pipes, because they stick out from under the bumper. I have to be careful, especially here in Texas where the streets are designed in the event of flashfloods and have terrible slopes when coming from side onto main streets.

Well thank you for letting me know I have a right to an opinion.
However it's only for the sake of discussion?
OK Billy boy I have driven pretty much everything with wheels.
But I don't need to post that and tell the world.(except to make a point here)
I sell on average 10-12 cars and trucks a year. All by referral. People seek me out. They want answers with out going to a dealership.
My friends drove cars other than L&M, Fords growing up.
I did not grow up in a vaccum! Most people drive cars and SUV, truck for reasons other than loyalty. Many today are driven by price pure and simple. It's all in what they want to afford.
Rebates and 0% interest are a big factor.
So carry on now and post away.

Well thank you for letting me know I have a right to an opinion. I was simply trying to be polite about it, but it sounds like you choose to be sarcastic about that no matter what. So go ahead and "carry on"
However it's only for the sake of discussion? Once again, you've misunderstood me. But you might just be toying with me as in the past, so I won't even bother explaining this one......isn't worth it.....

So carry on now and post away.So what does that have to do with you driving Fords? Are they neccessarily more affordable than Chevy or Mopar vehicles? I don't think so. You stated that you grew up in and around Ford & LM dealers all your life, so because of that you "draw the line". So you cannot blame me for getting the wrong impression now, can you? ...."What we have here, is a failure to communicate"........
