I will be going in Monday for my 10,000 mile check up.I was wondering what they do and will my chip and gear be noticed.I know mostly what they will do but I dont want a problem.I have done my oil changes at a Ford dealer because from the start I didnt like Stu Evens(salesman lied about my leather and service manager told me the "chirp"in my air compresser was normal)they have never made me feel at home right from the start and Im having a bad feeling about this.

Well, the doctor puts on this rubber glove, then asks you to bend over and spread your cheeks . . . . :D
Sorry, couldn't resist. But should have anyway. :dunno: :stooges:

I'm with him ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^, dealer gets to see my car for warranty work only and I wait for it. I do all my own maintenance.

Paul, if it's runnin OK why take it to them for anything. If it needs anything take it to Lidio, and find out who did Dave's detailing for the exterior.

I also dread a trip to the dealer. Only go when there is little alternative.

Hack, why does your car need a "10,000-mile checkup"? Because the dealer said so?
If you're not having any problems, and you've been keeping up with routine maintenance (oil changes, chassis lube, tires, etc) then your car shouldn't NEED anything done to it at this time. If you're concerned that something might be developing, and you want to catch it early, then just bring it to a trusted friend or favourite local mechanic (or Lidio, as merc406 suggested) and let them give it a once over...

Paul,
I've been using Dorian Ford on Gratiot for the last 2 oil changes. Quite happy with the respect and care of my car. Otherwise, Lidio does everything else.
I didn't even know there was a 10K check up.
I will have Dorian do my 30K service (trans fluid, fuel filter, I already told them I won't need airfilter)
