Can you translate the FORDSPEAK in the quote below. It looks like the Ford supplier is using a GM molding machine and can't get a ship date. Wonder if their molding machine is a GTO or a NOVA!!!!:D

I think it means the Parts system took a dump 'cause they saw a huge spike in demand for that part. And they were totally not expecting it. So they are goign to the supplier so they can make more.

I run into this where I work, but then I'm the guy who is supposed to look into the crystal ball and forecast how many spare parts we'll need. I think this would have caught me napping as well, not expected by any demand planner or Service Planner.

Hopefully its not made in China, 6 week boat ride, otherwise a simple molded part like this they should be able to fire it up quick like, although the minimum order qty might be high, thats Ford's problem.

When enthusiasts order a bunch of a certain part from a different model to adapt, it messes up Ford's system because their forecasted sales as a regular replacement item turns out to be way too low.

We ran into this a few years ago when the 03 Mach I Mustangs came out, and I was selling a bunch of the grille delete parts and chin spoilers to the 99 - 03 owners from the GTA Mustang club here in the Toronto area. When I was inquiring about the availability on large quantities, Ford Canada was perplexed as to why we wanted so many. :D
