I was looking at the Seanhylandmotorsport page and was wondering about some of the crate motors they offer. They have 6 or 7 I think and I was wondering what you'll think of these. Which would be better also, SOHC or a DOHC if you were replacing the MM's engine. Just curious, link is below.

That 600 HP 4.6 DOHC engine suits me fine!

The 4.6 cast iron block with a forged steel crankshaft, is fitted with steel rods and boost friendly 8.6-1 forged pistons. 4 valve cylinder heads, topped off with a twin screw supercharger pushing out 15 psi of boost, complete this package, creating a ground pounding 600 streetable horsepower on pump fuel. Billet fuel rails and billet pulley drives complete the under hood appeal of this engine package.

$17,495.00

I'd even take the 450HP DOHC version for $13,995.00!! Looks like a simple intake manifold swap and no one would know the difference..... :banana2:

Personally, I would stick with the 4V engines since MMs came with them. It's one of the things that make them unique. Although, on the other hand, 2V engines can be made to produce the same power as 4V engines. There seems to be more aftermarket parts for 2Vs as well because of Mustang GTs.

Just like the aftermarket caught up to the SOHC, it will catch up to the DOHC.

Maybe you need to read up a little more like on www.crownvic.net they have resoucres and FAQs about engines and such, i.e. 2V and 4V motors. All of the Marauders have 4V motors, so most of us would replace them, if we had with 4V motors.

I can already see 4Vs catching up. We're finally getting cams. I haven't seen intakes though (in aftermarket mass quantity at least).

I went to that site but I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. I just wanted to know what the major difference were between DOHC and SOHC and also a shortblock and longblock.

http://www.allpar.com/eek/cams.html

It deals with the Mopar 2.2/2.5L, but the basic info on SOHC vs DOHC vs Pushrod is essentially there.
