Gotta tell y'all that I just got through talking to Michelle at swaybars.com about the front bar. (ordered it, greta price for us there, btw)
First off, excellent response to my emails.
Then when I asked about a bar for the back of my Mustang project, it was no problem!
If the bar fits as good as their telephone and internet service, I'll be very happy! :bows:
Shelly is a doll...and will take good care of ya.

I'm just curious here ---did you check with any of our vendors here on the board that sell these items for a price?.....cause either you didn' know or think of it or you got a better deal from them.....which seems interesting cause the vendors on board here are very competitive when you shop their prices......care to tell?????.......Tom.
There are no vendors here offering the ADDCO front sway bar.
SIDENOTE:
And for those of you who have been on the sidelines for this one, 'cause you believe the rumor that a heavy-duty front swaybar will have a negative affect on weight transfer for those of you wanting to do 1/4 mile runs.......at our breakfast last Saturday...we had a special guest who explained away this rumor. Dick Anderson, former CEO of Carrera Shocks http://www.roadcatalogs.com/store/carrerashocks.html (which is now owned by QA1) gave those of us in ear-shot some schoolin' on the physics of suspension systems as he was touring under Marty's car up on the rack.
So...basically...anyone who tells you that your weight transfer will be affected in a negative way with this bar...has no idea of which they speak.
Hopefully, this is helpful for someone here.

What he said.
I usually do, and have, buy from the vendor's here. In fact my Metco arms are on there way, my floormats arriced last week , amy rear sway bar works great, my gas tank bib is nice, my fender badges look excellent, I write notes on my Marauder note pad with my Marauder pen.....
Oh, and Shelly is helping me with my custom rear bar for my Mustang project, no one else would even REPLY to my requests there.
I also shop at Walmart.

All you need to do is drive Todd's car to understand the benefits of some well thought out suspension mods. Man his car handles!

Yes, it was discussed, but all I have heard is second-hand... I'll let Todd provide details.

I was there for the explanation from the expert. A front sway bar controls the lateral motion but has no effect on the vertical motion.....no effect on weight transfer in drag racing but has a great effet (Todd?) in the corners.

Could you please post the part number of the Addco front sway bay? Thanks in advance.
There are no vendors here offering the ADDCO front sway bar..........I believe Dennis offers (sells) the front ADDCO sway bar.....Back in June of '04 CLICK HERE FOR LINK (http://mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=10468&highlight=front+swaybar)Dennis felt the front bar unnecessary due to his belief that it would hurt weight transfer....and Dennis has been the source for the ADDCO rear swaybar but not for the front as he has not carried these until his announcement today CLICKY AGAIN (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=16283).
Once again I'll state that on Saturday we were pleased to have a special guest at our breakfast (thanks to our Marauder owner*but not member here* Carl Smith) who brought Dick Anderson to join us. Dick is a wealth of information on high-performance suspension systems. He founded Carrera Shocks, which for over 40 years was the premiere provider of high-performance suspension components to the racing world. You could say he "wrote the book" on performance suspensions CLICKY HERE (http://farrmotorsports.com/carrera_shocks.htm)for an interview with Mike Farr, former Carrera Shock Executive . Dick gave those of us who were under Marty's car with him an in-depth analysis on the suspension of the Marauder (which he was impressed with, especially the OEM frontend and the ADDCO + Metco suspension mods). We spoke specifically about the front swaybar and any ill-affects on weight transfer. Dick was quick to explain how that is far from the truth and went on to describe the physics of what swaybars do relative to side-to-side torsion vs. front to rear. Dick was emphatic that proper weight transfer is NOT the function or hinderence of swaybar activity....but, due to chassis and shock torsion.
The man knows of what he speaks...I'll take his word as the primer for the subject. Anyone wants to believe other theories...fine with me.

Obviously my purchase creates some sort of problem for you.
If you feel that I should ONLY buy from the vendors here, just say so, and get it done. But, I think this may have something to do with TAF recommending this company, not that they are not a supporting vendor.
There was no one offering the front bar when I ordered it.
I got a good price (175.00 including the shipping) and ordered it.
All I reported on was the EXCELLENT customer service I got, which is rare these days, and I wanted to give kudos to them.
Oh, you are right, I did not call each vendor and ask them. I viewed their areas here and saw no refernce. I went to DR's site, no mention. I re-read all the posts about the front bar, no mention of ANYONE having it except www.swaybars.com . I heard good things, I emailed them, I got a fast response, I called they answered the phone and actually HELPED me.
I was happy, I bought.
Your questions has now been offically answered.
Unless you want to know why I decided to buy my Carhart coat from Cabela's?

No .your purchase didn't nor doesn't cause any problem with me.......I had wondered why no reference to vendors on the site--cause I guess I give them more credit than some should get..in offering parts that should be available...but apparently don't.....your purchase method is no big deal to me....but does explain the route since no one offered them ..again which I though they did.....carry on....

ADDCO - frt. 1.25" dia = $180.00, rear 1" dia = $149.00 >> TOTAL $329.00
Swaybars .com - frt. 1.25" dia = $175.00, rear 1" dia = $149.00 >> TOTAL $324.00.
These prices were received from email inquiries. They do not include shipping costs, although swaybars.com did say they did not charge for shipping. After doing some research ADDCO Mfg. Co. is in Linville, NC., guess where swaybars.com is? Linville, NC also! Wonder why the $5.00 difference in price? When I sent the emails to swaybars.com & ADDCO, Michelle Hetzel replied to both of them.....
Part numbers: front - 2196, rear - 650.
Next time I'm out that way I think I'll stop by ADDCO... I mean swaybars.com and pickup my bars. :D
