While at the dealer this past weekend doing my gear swap,,we went over a few of the bolts underneath the car.Seems quality isnt job#1 at ford anymore. There was a bolt missing in the front,,but that just held in some plastic for the front bumper cover underneath. But my L/M wrench told me of 6 marauders so far with lower trailing arm bolts being loose for the factory. There was also a GM that snapped the arm due to it not being tightened.I think that this is the noise that Fourth horseman and others may have heard.I would suggest that either you check them yourselves our bring it in to the dealer to have it looked at.While its on the lift,,walk around under it and look for things that should be there that arent,,and things that are loose. Also,,this and the dash flickering is a new problems that they know about.Dont let them play dumb.Safe driving,,,Jeff

Thanks for the heads up. Maybe I'll stop by my Merc dealership tomorrow as I have the day off and see if they'll take a look at it for me.

Appreciate the heads up!

Well, I couldn't stand it. Having the day off, nice weather outside (it's in the low 50s here again, weirdest winter since I've lived here) and I have nothing but time on my hands. So I drove my MM around back, jacked it up and pulled the rear wheels for a look.

Everything looks and feels tight. All the nuts look tight, there's no obvious signs of wear and I even took a pry bar to see if there was excessive movement in the upper and lower control arms. They move just a bit as the rubber bushings give, but that's all. The shock mounts look good and tight, and the anti-sway bar mounts all look good as well. Nothing loose and no excessive movement.

So... I'm giving my rear suspension a clean bill of a health, though I will continue to keep an eye on it.

Fourth Horseman hope you turned off your air ride suspension before you jacked up your Marauder?I know you know? But others may not know?

well the good NEWS is that it sounds like your dealer has sold six Marauders.

Considering how these cars are produced, it's hard to believe the torque would be off on those.

It's partly why though the dealer is supposed to do a PDI, and check for any service bulletins on the cars before they are sold

Yup, I did, and you're right, it's always a good reminder.
