Hello folks. Took me 2 days to figure out how to post on the site. I drive my Marauder a little better than I surf. I bought my '03 MM last July and have loved every mile so far. I am planning to have the engine completely rebuilt and supercharged in the fall. This car is begging for 450+ horsepower. I am having a very respectable shop do the work for me, and the main guy says he may be able to squeeze 500 hp out of the new engine and still pass emissions... We will see. Anyway, I look forward to chatting with you guys and getting all the advice I can. Thanks, Bob.

Welcome aboard.

You could get 450+ crank HP (390+ RWHP) with a Trilogy S/C for $6k and don't have to rebuild the engine.

Just my .02 and then some...

Hey Mark, let me know when the next meeting is. I went to your link for the website... very cool, but could not find a calendar of events or meetings. It looks as though your ride is similar to what I want to do. Basically, I want to have the baddest assed car in my area. I look forward to getting together and learning a bunch about my car. Right now I do not know a whole lot... just turn the key, put it in drive and mash the gas. Talk to you soon, Bob. P.S. what is a thread?

A thread is what you just started. "I'm a new member who is internet challenged!" is the title of this thread that everyone sees in the Community Discussion section of this forum. All the other titles you see like "Marauder Murder" for example, are also threads.

Hello folks. Took me 2 days to figure out how to poson the site. Thanks, Bob.
:welcome:Hi Bob. We were just down to Big Bats, on the other side of the Bay Bridge, last Sunday, for our monthly CAM gathering. Very informal, no meetings, officers or membership required; we just get together once a month for lunch. I've been here since August and am still learning stuff about how to navigate. There's lots of lessons to learn, and you'll learn 'em all, ...or not. Have fun, this is a great bunch.:)

Should you communicate directly with a specific person via a thread, or should you respond to that person privately? I want to learn the proper site etiquette. Thanks, Bob.

Stuff to a specific person should be done via Private Messaging. New threads should be made for general questions of just to give out info to others aswell.

Hello folks. Took me 2 days to figure out how to post on the site.
Bob,
Welcome to the MM.Net :welcome: and Happy Maraudering !!! You'll be navigating this site well enough soon and then you'll be hooked like the rest of us.

I am a displaced Baltimorean now residing in Virginia. Grew up in the old Memorial Stadium area. Still a big O's fan.

Info/threads about the CAM meets is generally posted under the North East Marauder forum. You can do a search ... just type "CAM Meet" or "Big Bat's" in the pull down SEARCH menu block at the top of each page. Meets are usually titled by month (e.g. Dec CAM Meet, Jan CAM Meet, etc.). If you have never seen 17-18 Marauders of all colors lined up in a row .... here's your chance. :burnout:

Check the timeslips page to see what that power will buy you on the track. You can click on the screen name of the "owner" of the car to see what mod's he's running. You might also be interested in some of the fastest times for the 1/4 mile there. Hint .... 11.47 !!!

Welcome aboard Bob! You can learn so much about your car here, (as I have)! If you have any questions whatsoever, just ask! Chances are someone here has either done it, thought about it, or talked about doing it. This is the Marauder Mecca! :D

RUN AWAY BOB QUICK! GET OUT OF HERE BEFORE IT HAPPENS TO YOU TOO....

......well, it is probably too late. You have been assimilated. You will be unexplicably drawn to this site. Intrigued by the info it contains. Resistance to modifications it futile.

:welcome: to a new world and the end of the internet for the Mercury Marauder.

Uhum...you stole my line Charlie.... :mad2:

Ok Bob don't listen to the rest of the CAM members they are just trying not to scare you off. New members must buy the first round of the first meet they attend, then they must go through the 'Right of Accession' with real Klingon pain sticks, then they must memorize the 'Oath of Acceptance' and the secret handshake and then they need to perform an acceptable burnout of at least 30 seconds with their car and then they get to wear the 'Grand Poobah Hat'. Hope that helps and welcome to CAM. ;)

As said earlier Resistance to modding is futile so why bother thats what i say..It is great to have the baddest assed car around here as we could surely use one and the fun thing is learning about it at the same time.Hope to see and meet ya soon...

Should you communicate directly with a specific person via a thread, or should you respond to that person privately? I want to learn the proper site etiquette. Thanks, Bob.

This really depends on the nature of your communication. If its a response/comment to a question posted in a thread, then reply to that thread. If its an "off-topic" response or question, then Private Message (PM) is the way to go.
