Have my heart set on an 04 with low miles but I found a local Ford dealer selling an 03 300b (with T/c) with 20,000 miles for $19K. (most likely negotiable) Supposedly a clean history, but I always worry with these cars that even reasonalbe mileage like this could have been HARD miles. Lets face it, its the nature of the beast. What do you guys think?

 Hmmm...define HARD miles. I try to run mine WOT at least once a day, but don't consider that hard treatment, especially since as you say it's the nature of the beast. I have only had mine 5 months now, but everyone here says they were made to be let out of their cage once in a while. Price wise the deal looks okay to my eyes, but if you can get the VIN come back and let Roy or one of the guys run it and make sure nothing under the covers.

Just checked my '03 MM 300B on the KBB site about a week ago. With 18,000 miles, all options (heated seats, 6CD, trucnk organizer), and excellent condition, the retail price on it was $21,935. Private price was $19,465. Trade-In is $17,050. Sounds like a good deal to me. Does it look abused inside or outside?? Knock off $ appropriatedly for lower conditions (i.e. good, fair, etc.)

I don't understand why you wouldn't want to run your car hard if it's recommended by many of you to do just that during the break-in period. (I mean I read a GM crate engine break-in and it says to do so.) It's obviously more stressful but why shouldn't you run it that way broken-in as opposed to doing that TO break it in?

Prices on used Marauders seem very reasonable in the US. Locally I was looking at '03 300b with 40,000 km ( 25,000 miles?) for $28,000 Cnd, which is probably around $22,000 US. I didn't buy it because the tires looked like they'd need replacement in another 10K and it was dirty. I wouldn't buy any car if there's evidence of "hard miles" or if someone hadn't bothered to keep the car clean. My opinion only. I bought a '04 with 12,000 km that looked and smelled new. The extra $ was worth it in my view.
Good luck in your search.

If it's Turbocharged, I'd buy it.
Pro Turbo Kits is the only turbo for this car I know of and it's currently on sale for $5600 (?).

Just want to clarify...when I said "hard" I meant "abusive". Having had a Trans Am & a few Camaros during the 80s & 90s, besides being my daily drivers, I rememeber thinking it was a drag at almost every stop light, the runs at the street strips and just driving the heck out of the cars. I recall replacing a couple of trannies before even reaching the 40K mile range.
Lets face it, you cant help yourself in these cars.

Km...? Is that some Communist form of measurement?
:DYes it is. Stands for Kommunismus Messen, German for communism measures. (Karl Marx was German. Seems we get trouble from the krauts every now and then.)

Sounds great to me. I paid 23,800 at a L/M dealer for an 03 Blue with 18000 miles. Have RoyLPita run the VIN for you or ask the dealer for the "in service" date to see how much original bumper-to-bumper warranty is left on it. I always want a little "new car" warranty - makes me feel better about buying a car someone else may have abused.

:bigcry: Unfortunately by the time I called on Saturday morning to go see it, someone had put a deposit on it, was waiting on a call back if the deal fell through but didnt happen. I did have RoyL run a check (he's a great guy for doing that by the way) the car had a few warranty fixes (headlamp water & steering leakage) but still a great deal on the car...oh well. Been calling everybody for a low mileage 03-300B with T/C or an 04 but, it seems they wre either just bought or a deposit is on it. The ones that are out there have high mileage or are 300As. Patience is a virtue tho ugh lol.

I just bought mine in San Antonio (North Park L/M). I paid US$17,495 for my baby with 40K miles. It looks and runs (and even smells a little) like new. It was leased by a bank who had all the service done at the same dealer. I don't know the diff between the 300A and the 300B yet, so tell me what to look for and I'll give you better info.
--Added after Cartman showed me the way: I have a 300A.
Cheers,
I still can't get this grin off my face.
P.S. Any MM owners in SA?
