I did notice that this particular car has regular Florida tags on it.... Most down here have the FHP tags, and are easy to spot out from the back, I guess they are getting trickier... interesting!

It was mentioned in a news article that the FHP tag was to be replaced by the standard Florida sunshine state tag

A Marauder police car...fun. And sneaky. I was once pulled over by a Dodge Caravan with a canoe on its roof. Not as much fun and much sneakier.
By the way, what is a tag? A licence plate?

By the way, what is a tag? A licence plate?Yes. FHP Marauders have standard FL license plates. They are "stealth" cars-look completely stock on the outside. The lights, etc. are hidden from plain view. Part of a program to control aggressive driving on our highways.

I missed that article.... One of our last meets we had two FHP Marauders show up and they had the FHP tags "Liscence Plates" on them... Did make them stand out.

They also look like Mac, Alan, FiveO and FiveO's ladyfriend. I would know any of these guys were cops without them telling me. FiveO's ladyfriend- not until I saw her crusing through a rowdy SS crowded parking lot in Georgia. She had the stare. Very pretty but you could just tell she'd break your nose if she wanted. I think that's all the LEOs I've met from the site.

I was only kidding. :D I was on the NYPD for 35 years.I knew that but haven't had the pleasure of meeting you face-to-face. The folks I mentioned all have that "I'm on duty 24/7" look to them. I respect that and I bet you know exactly what I'm talking about.:D I thought about being a smartass and saying "Sheriff' but didn't want to raise the wrath of the board.

I was sitting in the front seat on a shuttle bus and they were looking in our direction as we approached. They did pretty much all the traffic control during the Daytona races.

I didn't realize these guys had regular Florida plates. I guess I should have looked at the pictures better.
A week ago I was on the Turnpike and I see a Marauder pulling out of a service plaza. I noticed it had red lettering inserts, so I assume it's someone from out here. I tried to speed up to catch him but I noticed he was going pretty fast. So, I hung back for a while and eventually he slowed down a bit and I got a chance to go by him. As I'm pulling up I notice, "Hmm, antennas like a cop, whatever." As I get real close and in the process of passing him I see lights in the back window and "Hmm, like cop..... oh crap." I think he looked over and smiled but I couldn't tell because I was too busy feeling like an idiot passing by a cop, a no no.

I don't know what name the FHP go by, but I would assume either: Patrolman or Trooper.
If you call a Maryland State Trooper a Cop or a Policeman they usually get a little bent because they feel that they are a notch above other local law enforcement officers...

But how do you come to this conclusion. After all, "Troopers are your best protection"..... right? :puke:

I hope Dennis breifed all the depts. on the behaiver of Marauder drivers when they see another one? You know something like,"The owners of these cars are in a kind-of club so when they see another they will try to catch up and give you a wave".

I'm a big believer in "sir".
Can't go wrong with "yessir, nossir, here's my license and registration sir!".
Unless it's a female trooper. :)

I hear ya!
I love these people who get belligerent with the LEO when they get pulled over!
They are only encouraging the LEO to give them a "WOOD SHAMPOO". :bop:
