Tell that to the writers of the South Carolina constitution. I agree with you that 14 is too young, but back in them there days, people did marry and start having families at ages we consider criminal now. My grandmother on my Mom's side got married and had her first child at 15, and my grandfather was 16 when they got married. They went on to have 16 kids. Not much to do on the farm after dark with no electricity, you don't read so well, and it's a long walk over to the neighbords.

I read that there's a bill in the SC legislature to move the age upwards.

George (S.O.B.) drives mine all the time and returns it with a full tank of gas. He even chauffeured a friend last year to the Homecoming Dance ... got a wash and wax outta that deal along with the gas. :D
