I finally had the j-mod performed on the transmission, along with the forced tailshaft lubrication modification.
While the car was on the lift, I also took pictures of various items not readily seen.
Click here (http://www.supermotors.org/registry/vehicles/detail.php?id=588&s=23528#content) for the pics.
Thought some of you might find these pics interesting.

Nice pics. How do you like the J-mod?

I went for the "medium" shifting. I left in the 1-2 spring and removed the 2-3 spring.
The difference is noticeable, especially the 2-3 shift. The Vic also feels more responsive.

I have no problem breaking the rear tires loose w/3.55's & stock program. I think I might try the forced lube mod - looks good!

I would, however; I have changed the pressure with my chip. Furthermore, I plan to install a custom torque converter in a few months. I am sure I'll have traction problems at that point. ;)
Thanks for the compliments.

That many pics, it's a wonder your tranny man got anything done with you under there running around taking pictures! ;)
Good pics Steve! Hope you are enjoying the mod.
Call me when you have a minute.

I noticed that you did the rear shock, too. the left rear is the most difficult to access- even worse with air suspension. I had the access the nut on top from underneath using a t-handled ratchet wrench.

Mike, the mechanic did not mind at all. ;) He explained everything he was doing. It was very informative.
Roy, I was just taking pics of the shocks for reference. I have heard of the horrors stories associated with changing them.
I do plan to change them soon and I'll look into getting a rachet like the one you mentioned.

When you end up doing the rear shocks, cut the upper shield to acces the shaft. Use vise grips to prevent the shaft from turning when removing the upper nut.

you guys must be talking specifically about shock absorber changes on Crown Vics, because I changed both rear shocks on my Marauder, and it was a piece of cake.

What exactly is the "J-Mod"? It sounds like a shift kit mod to me, is it a complete kit or some free mod you guys do?

The J Mod is a modification to the Valve body separator plate and to the 1/2 and 2/3 accumulator there is a very good article on this, all this is included in a kit I can sell normally it comes in the transmission kit I have but if you want the kit with the lube shaft and drill bits and instruction sheet let me know I will be glad to help the other thing to consider with this modification is to decrease line pressure on your custom chip slash tune

Great pics, the kind of stuff we all talk about but the novice rodder just shakes his head in semi-aggreement. I hope Patrick opens this thread.

Billy,
The rear shocks on your MM + the '03 & up GM, CV & TC are a breeze to change. It is the previous frame ('02 & under) that would give you fits. It is the opposite, though for the front shocks. The '02 & under frame are a sinch to do where as the '03 & up frame are more involved and require spring compression tools.
