He could be a metropolitan police officer in D.C. They hire nothing but the best, he he. I have seen many like him at local IDPA events and trust me they usually score low and often miss the target.

It was in Florida that it happened, and it was real, and not staged. The guy broke one of the cardinal rules of gun handling. And that is NEVER CLEAR THE ROUND OUT OF THE CHAMBER WITH YOUR FINGER ON THE TRIGGER!!!! AND if HE'S A COP, HE SHOULD'VE KNOWN THAT. BUT EVEN IF HE WASN'T, HE STILL SHOULD'VE KNOWN THAT IF HE OWNS GUNS. Then the guy tries to save face by continuing his safety speech.

That's a Homer Moment....DOHHHHH!!!

I loved it when he picked up the AR-15 and said: "It's an empty weapon...right??"

Then all the kids started yelling: "PUT IT DOWN!!!"

At least they were smart enough to know better.

DEA needs to train their Officers better...
If they all shoot themselves in the pecker BEFORE going to school
to show off guns, this would have never happened...

I'm not a police officer but it seems there are several things going wrong with this senario here...

1. It appears as if the guy asks if the weapon is empty before taking it.
2. Why would you need to ask if the weapon is empty, if the weapon was being brought into a school or school-like setting?
3. The officer assumes it's empty
4. By the way he talks and carries on, it's apparant that he could care less about gun safety or education of minors; he's there because he swing around an unholstered gun to show it off.
5. Never appologizes for what happens (at least in the video, maybe he did off camera). Instead he walks his 1-testicle-self off the stage. :D

My grand father was an LEO, and Ive known many LEOs throughout my life. That guy is a total disgrace to LEOs everywhere. Accidents happen yes, but there is no room for error when you have such a potential for extreme controll environments like this one It's just rediculous. :mad2:

I don't handle a lot of glocks - but if you remove the magazine, THEN rack the slide to clear the chamber, display the gun w/slide locked open - how can you put the side in battery with a live round in the chamber? Did he NOT remove the magazine?! If my kid was in that class room, there would be one less idiot in the world after that performance!

I agree BillyGman!

Adding to this, never put your :censor: ing finger on the trigger unless you intend on firing the weapon!!
I have seen friends of mine once a weapon is in their hands to immediately place their finger inside of the trigger guard! :mad2:

When I started welding years and years ago, the instructor said "Assume all metal is hot before you go grabbin it." I would have to imagine that the same would apply to weapons; assume they are loaded before you go grabbin at the trigger...

I think the Glock is one of those models that when you place a loaded clip in service,
and then remove the clip, the first round stays in the barrel, waiting to be loaded.
If this a** was so professional that he knew this, he should have known to eject the round
before brandishing the Glock to a classroom of kids.

This is very serious!
If the weapon was pointed anywhe else, other than his pecker,
the very point he was trying to get across, could have actually
taken place in the classroom !

He needs to be severly dealt with for endangering the student's welfare.
All of the arms he presented, needed to be secured, unloaded, verified TWICE,
and resecured prior to transporting them anywhere NEAR an educational facility.

I need to show this video to a friend of mine who is an officer.

Funny CBT,
Both of the above are EXACTLY what my Dad told me years ago!

EVERY Firearm is loaded until I prove otherwise.
I UNLOAD EVERY Firearm I handle, auto's,by removing the clip and clearing the chamber.
Revolvers by opening the cylinder and counting the holes.

WTF was he doin taking his weapon out for show and tell??? Dummy! Guns only come out for business reasons!

Clearly he was too busy show boating when he racked the slide THEN removed the mag. I always rack it 3 times when unloading, then inspect.

Yea I thought i heard that too. I thought I heard him rack the slide first before dropping the clip. I found this clip to be real funny because of an inside joke i have with a friend of mine, but it's funny for more obvious reasons as well. "Look guys i'm a professional and i make mistakes too." What i can't understand is, he assumed the weapon was empty, he was showing his weapon with the slide back, why did he release the slide back to the firing position? And also with the slide back in it's original position why did pull the trigger. Glocks have the mini-trigger on the front of the actual trigger to prevent anything other than a full fingered pull from setting it off. He had to have had his entire finger on the trigger then pulled to have been able to fire that weapon. This video gives me peace of mind, now i know that my federal tax dollars that fund government agencies, such as the DEA, are going to the best of the best. (actually more like the OK of what's available)

Todd,
THAT WAS FREAKIN' AWESOME!
I expected him to say something like " When i hold this gun it makes me feel powerful. Kinda of like how God feels when He holds a gun!"

I think maybe his hair blocked the view of the chamber.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- An undercover D-E-A Agent has been suspended for a week without pay after video surfaced on the internet showing him shoot himself in the foot while giving a gun safety lecture to a group of Orlando fourth graders.

During the lesson, the agent goes through a safety routine and even asks another agent to verify that the gun is not loaded. The agent, holding a Glock 40 handgun, referred to how rappers who tend to boast about this type of gun, and even hold it incorrectly.

With the gun pointed downward, the firearm misfired and the agent shot himself in the right foot.

Despite the shock and injury, the agent continued his lesson warning kids about the danger of accidental shootings, like the one they had just witnessed.

Sources close to the investigation suspect the video was leaked from someone inside the D-E-A.
