leather seats + my 12year old daughter...HELP!!!

Hello all.
(and yes, I spent an hour searching many key words to no avail)

Tonight I was rewarded with the all time high opportunity of a life time...
Go get my 12yo daughter and her two friends from a middle school aged only night club. (pm me for questions about that).

Anyways, 3 bubbly and hyper 12yo girls got in the car and we raced around a while, scored a hit with a ricer who had to have added 2000+ HP with that sound system and temp plates it was so new. The girls got to eat rice cakes and just loved it. All was fun and cool...until...
I dropped off the last of them and noticed...HORROR!!!

one of the girls had been playing with a blue ink pen and got it ALL OVER the leather seats!!!

I was a good daddy, I didnt make a big scene. My soul was crushed and I was smiling:o


anyone got a good idea how to get pen ink stains out of the leather???

any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Try rubbing alcohol. You might want to dilute it first.

I had an ink spot on my seat once.when i saw it i was mad :mad2: at myself so while cleaning the car i used Zaino leather cleaner a couple of times and it came right WHEW!

Zaino Z-9 followed by Z-10. I considered using a product called leatherique (http://leatherique.com). Great reviews but it is a time consuming procedure. I will try it and provide my own review in the future, but for now I will stick with Zaino...smells great too!

Mine knows better. Not once. She rides in the MM nearly every day. And there are towels around/under her should it ever happen, but she has seemed like she has understood just where she is, and not a mark of anything has appeared anywhere in 10 months now. :P

hair spray was very effective in removing permanant marker from our leather couches. Should be no problem with ink.

Update..
well after some hard work and following the advice here(alcohol) and using the leather product from my mothers house (for her couch) I finally got the ink off the seats.
The alcohol surely disolved the ink but just made it spread.
The product I used, and will use again if I am faced with this is called Guardian. The have a stick that looks almost like a gel underarm stick. But it is firm, you rub the spot with stick, wipe the stick off, repeat. the ink was like gone soon.
I think she bought it in a furnature store of all places. But it REALLY worked well.

If you really value that car, I'd avoid using it as a shuttle for your kids and their friends. Get a safe beater car - like a Crown Vic or Grand Marquis - and use that as a family car. Puking, ink stains, nail polish, food crumbs, etc... can happen. I'm the only person in my Crown Vic 99% of the time, so it feels weird when I actually have passengers in there. It's so roomy that I get used to the space for myself :)

Isopropyl Alcohol and Rubbing Alcohol are NOT the same.

Isopropyl Alcohol is usually 99% pure while Rubbing Alcohol is only 70% pure.

Rubbing Alcohol CAN damage plastics and some leathers
so please do NOT use Rubbing Alcohol !!!

Lighter Fluid.....Then Meguires or some other leather oil to replace oil removed!!

I accidentally marked my seat with a pen last week and it worked fine for me!! :banana2:

Worst case go to a leather shop and let them refinish with acrylic and you won't believe how good it will look...durable too!! :D
