ford cant turn a grand marquis into 300C killer without atleast a 400 hp engine and a semi luxry interior and DUH RWD and that my friends costs money at least 40,000 grand worth and one of the keys to the 300C is price which starts at 32,000 and theres no way in hell that ford can get a grand marquis with the aformentioned options and have it cost or at least start under 35,000 :bigcry:

The SRT-8 is supposed to have over 400hp. With all those ponies under the hood, it sure as hell better be faster than a 302hp Marauder, which is a longer and heavier car.

Have YOU seen an SRT-8 run at the track?

A stock 300C is DEFINITELY faster in the 1/4 than a stock MM.

A stage I MM is a good matchup.

Of course, every car is different, so this will not be true every single time, but it's a safe bet stock vs. stock that the 300C is the winner. I've driven 'em and raced against 'em. A stock MM just is not as fast.

If it all works out the Motor City Crew and the 300C Club are in talks right now about getting together sometime this summer for a day at Milan. There club is new and there getting there "Legs" on how they run there website and there future but there is a intrest on there part. Also it will be open to all HEAVY foordoors front wheel or rear drive so invites will go out to the Impala,Pontiac,Caddy,Buick,Old s,Lincoln,Ford Clubs. Its only talk right now but there seems to be some intrest. Also this does not in any way replace the southern heavyweight shootout where the SS group have done a great job the last 4 years and I hope they have it year. :burnout:

Although I could barely decipher your horribly written post, I think you are referring to Hau Thai-Tang the chief engineer of the 2005 Mustang. First of all, he did not "design" the 2005 Mustang. The chief designer of the car was Larry Erickson. I don't want to go into the details of the automotive design process, but all other aspects of the car were done by a team of hundreds of people.

In any case, Hau Thai-Tang has every right to be called an American. He is a US citizen who has spend most of his life here, and obviously did a very good with the new Mustang. Perhaps you should take an English class and get a clue before such making such offensive statements.

True... but to tell you the truth... if I had to go to butt ugly to be fast... I'd stay slow! The 300C looks like a poor soap carving with a big ugly grill stuck to it.

Hemi.... isn't that were the head design is like... yeah... the DOHC motors?

Or is Hemi what Chrysler has stuck in almost everything they make these days. I think I could get a Hemi Golf Cart if I went to the right Chrysler dealer.

:D

Like I said above... if the 300C was the fastest thing on the planet... I wouldn't go ugly to drive it.:puke:

Now I did see a very nicely done S/C Dakota Pickup at the drags in Tucson. SWEEET ! Yellow with Bumble Bee Stripe on it... but it had a Ram's head in the middle and called SUPER DAK.

Oh.. final note... maybe Chrysler ought to get someone from Saigon... then when they reintroduced the Charger ... it would look like the old Charger... you know.. with 2 doors and stuff  ..sort of like the 2005 Mustang has styling that takes you back to the 60 era Mustangs?

I gonna jump in here. First of all I am the one trying to coordinate a day for us to meet at the track with the 300C's and Impallas. Second, I am a member of the 300C forums and I never slam them or they slam me. We have respect for one another. Third, I am not gonna get into a mine is better than yours thing. If you like the 300C, so be it. Fourth, I wish Chrysler would stop calling it a "Hemi". It is not a true hemi engine. It is just a name for marketing. Now if you feel that your all-mighty 300C is better feel free to come to some of our outings in your area and see for yourself. I have yet to hear of a 300C run in the mid 11"s. Hell they can't even get a chip for it without it's computer reprogramming it back to stock.

Here's a quick math problem for you:

300C SRT8 = $65,000 Canadian, on the road (after taxes, etc.)
My Marauder = $37,000 Canadian, on the road (after taxes, etc.)

After purchase of the MM, how much of the remainder will be required for it to outperform the SRT8?
Yeah - we have some crazy tax rates, after the exchange rate, huh?
----
I know the SRT8 will easily outperform the MM out of the box, but $28,000 is a HUGE slush fund! You can spend a little money and increase performance drastically... It's very difficult (and ridiculously expensive) to add sex appeal to a box with wheels.

"Good air last nite, 55* / 60%. The 300C best time 14.7, not very impressive."

I have seen several run and have not been impressed.

I think it is a great car. I just find it % that the reviews talk about how fast it is and these same reviewers did not say the MM was fast, yet they are both close in the 1/4 and I think the MM is faster!
