View Full Version : 1500 RPM vibration

After reading several threads on vibrations due to u-joints, gears, ring and pinion, etc. I still have a question I would like to address.
When my MM is idling down, whether in gear or in neutral, while in forward motion, I get a vibration at about 1500 rpms. Any ideas?

Nothing a supercharger can't fix.

Is the vibration at a certain speed? If so, could be a tire balancing issue... lots of guys here swear by a new balancing system that works wonders.

No specific speed. Only happens at 1500 while rpms are decreasing. Also I threw it into neutral while at several different speeds to see if it still happened. Always at ~1500 rpms. Not too worried, but it is kinda anoying since I now know it happens. Just wondering if I should be concerned/looking to corect whatever it is.

This morning I tried holding the throttle to 1500rpms in park. Same vibration. So its not tires. Any ideas? Suggestions?

Thought I would bump this back up in hopes of some direction for the mechanics out there.
Problem:
-Vibration at 1500 RPMs.
-Can feel it in park and when speed is decreasing, w/o throttle, passing down through the 1500 mark. But only at the 1500 to 1600 range.
-Can't feel it under acceleration.
Thanks for any advice.

I am beginning to feel this also, and it is exactly as you describe, but I've got 26,000 miles on my Marauder.
I am thinking of having the plugs changed, in case one of them has a cracked insulator that
is causing a misfire, and the PCM isn't picking it up.
I had it start one morning with a pretty prevelant misfire, that went away after I shut it off and restarted it.

MENINBLK:
PM me if you get this resolved. I'll do the same.
