Well I got a call this morning come the Sherifs department from GA they had two cars there that were shutting down at 118MPH they had tried an off the shelf tuner and it did not work on either car, so I told them about SCT and if they would come down I could guarantee results, and after looking the cars over and I set up a program with the speed limiter removed firmer shifts and shift points adjusted we took the car out for a drive but could not find enough road to safely check to see if the speed limiter was gone. I said heck lets just strap it down and check it on the dyno,

Well he left happy the car ran up to 135 at 6500RPM, there bringing back two more cars.

Cool. Good job Dennis! 118 MPH is not going to catch what's out on the street right now. Great job.

The previous CVPI's I've driven have all been limited at about 129-130.

Could have been limited due to the tires.

Nice work Dennis.

Seriously, I wouldn't want to be drivin' no crown vic above 120... I'd leave that to Mr. Motorola and Mr. Spike Strip. No sense in trying fly a Crown vic. ;)

I'm just gonna start calling it Reinhart Flight School. :D

Well, actually I was referring to the ricers since we responsible MM owners don't drive at excessive speeds, (though we could if we wanted to). Right? :)

CRUZTAKER - Hmmm...wonder what drive shaft is in those cars....::rolleyes:
More than likely it's the shorter aluminum drive shaft with the extended transmission tail housing.

*Not quite as good as the AMMC, however, more than adequite.

I didn't catch your reference to ricers ,,but just the same, we all are responsible , I think , and I also think we all have been at excessive speeds on more than one occasion,,otherwise, what you doing with a Marauder....in other words....alot of us DO want to and DO.....as best disquised as possible if need be...oh ..phooey..you get my drift...

Dennis, if I am not mistaken the 3.55 geared 03-04 MY CVPI was limited to 119 MPH and the 3.27 geared CVPI was limited to 129 mph due to driveshaft vibration concerns and tail housings spinout. As the service advisor that takes care of the FHP in Miami -Dade county, I have not seen the trans tailhousing damage concern that was happening on the early 99 (3.55 geared)MY CVPI that was happening before Ford issued (3/99) the 99B04 program (PCM recalibration/flash) that limited the top speed to 119 MPH down from 126 mph, on the later cars. Also Ford later had a TSB 99-18-1 (published 8/99) that keep the top speed to 126 mph but the installed a MMC driveshaft assembly and installed higher ride height rear springs. Dennis, I know it is to early to report, but I wonder if any of the officiers have noticed any vibration concerns above 119 mph with the stock driveshaft.

You also have to remember the 99 CVPI had the ALUMINUM Metal Matrix driveshaft, I had several 3.55 equipped CVPIs and drove them all above 125 MPH (at a safe location) with no vibrations. Both had chips in them and I had safely had them at 129 via GPS with no vibration issues.

Seem to recall pic's of a Marauder driveshaft and it had the huge-ass donut near the yoke. *Did not know that the Marauder's driveshaft was aluminum.

The aluminum ( as well as the AMMC ) P71 driveshafts are sans donut.
