Anybody going to take thier "snow shoes" off for the new season yet?

Bradley G
I have one good burnout left on the OEM's from last year.I think I will go visit the dealer where I got the Marauder, and show them a couple stripes of appreciation.:P Then I plan to use MM.net's Tire Rack link to order more!

No changing to summer sneakers here yet... (VT) about 50 inches of white crap on the ground and snowing as I type... 4 studded snows on 16 inch rims for my winter CrownVic..other Panthers sit in waiting in Cold Storage!! Lowest this year was minus 34... Now in the 20s above.. so the gals will be out in shorts and halters..and the loggers in shorts.. even the UPS and FedEx guys and gals are running around without jackets... Last frost last year was June 8... Summer is short in the NorthEast Kingdom :help:

Mine goes in next Thursday on my morning off. That means Friday we will get at least 4 inches of snow.

Of course, our weathermen say we are pretty much out of winter, so that just reinforces my belief that I'm doing this too early.

I don't care.

I would be interested.I live in Colorado and I'm sorry but I can't look at this Big Black Beautiful Machine sit.Unfortunately I live in the mountains and the machine cannot and will not make it up my driveway.I would luv a set of snows to get out and give her hell from time to time.Usually the main roads are clear. My driveway,Never.

As much as I would like to take them off, We got a few inches of snow today, and more in the forecast. I think Barry has got it , we are a few weeks away still.

I braved it out, and didn't bother. Though you never know down here in Atlanta, you might get a vicious dusting of flurries.

I still have the snows on my car too. The first week of April is when the drag radials go back on. Many snow tires wear pretty quickly while driving on dry pavement. So I refuse to use them in April.;)

Been living in the various upstate NY snow belts all my life. Snow tires stay on until at least mid April. We still have several feet of the compacted white stuff on the ground. We are supposed to be above freezing during the day for the next week or so. That makes for a nice slow melt down with no flooding. Heck, maybe I'll wash the MM if the roads stay dry.

I feel I have shown incredible self control not to stomp the go fast pedal much since the blizzaks are on.I will be taking them off for April too!

Pondering this question in 65^ weather.... and if it doesn't rain I will be at the dragstrip this evening (with the Fairlane not the MM).

What does one need snow tires for? I didn't use them on my Cobra when I drove it TO Vermont thru a snowstorm.....

Didn't use them on my MM when I drove it BACK from Vermont thru a snowstorm......

:dunno:

I was pondering the same thing today and I think I'm going to take them off next week. It looks like the temps are finally getting up into the high 40s. If it does snow, it should be nothing more than a flurry.

I am getting sick of how lame my car looks without the stock rims on it.

I drove the MM all last winter on stock tires,You can be the hero,;) The car goes no where in the snow with oem tires. This year was a whole different story .
I want some shiney wheels back on too!

Bradley,

You are right... I live in Sierra Vista (No Where) Arizona ! :D

Mine wasn't by choice mind you.... had to "git r done"... the MM does better in snow with its OEM tires than the Cobra did with its OEM tires... TRUST ME !

If thier was an hour more daylight today, I would have made the switch.I can believe that a Cobra wants to tackle snow less than a Marauder:D

That extra hour of day light is next weekend. :) Spring hopefully is not too far away. Weather here is still too unpredictable for me to get her summer shoes out. The "dusting" of snow predicited for Wednesday night turned into 8" :depress:

Well the winter Pkg. was retired till next time!As happy as I was to get the "Unmarked" look,I am ten times happier to put the OEM's back on!:cool4:  :coolman: .

Too bad it was raining when I was finished or I may have been tempted to roast off (2/64"tread left off the wear bars) what's left from last season!
I need one more weekend out of these tires,If they get nearly bald are they gonna hook better for a little while?
Just gotta leave enough to return home and to take it for new sneakers.:D
