I am looking for a donor car to install our new Vortech S Trim with our custom air to air heat exchanger, this is a turn key kit with 42 pound injectors SCT Maf and SCT Xcalibrator and tuning cable included, the kit also has our custom twin high volume fuel pump assembly, I will install this kit for a very reasonable price for the use of the car and to complete custom tuning here at our facility. I will also include reduced labor and parts cost for any other upgrades such as the transmission and rear engine cooling kit, please call me any time.

Hello Dennis, I think it is nice that the members will have a choise between 2 different Air to Air S/C Kits down the road ,ProCharger & Vorteck. But one thing I just don't understand that is Jerry from Triogly S/C & Greg from ProCharger S/C Both put their S/C Kit's on their own personal cars and tested them before selling them to the members, at least that's what I come to understand. Why haven't you Put a Vorteck S/C on your own personal car then test it first before selling it to our members? :dunno:

He has, many kits, and done extensive research on items for our cars.

You may not know this but in the beginning Dennis was the ONLY person putting parts together for our cars. So when you ask why doesn't he test parts first he has done so much you have no idea.

Look into the archives and you'll see how much he has done then you'll see your post was a little naive.

Right now I am finishing a SC Marauder its on the dyno, every product I have ever sold is on my car short of a blower, the reason why its not been installed is Because I use may car as a loaner to my customers, Kieth was the first car for my Vortech water to air he is totaly happy, and his was a loaner car, I would glady use my car but I have bigger plans for it, and I am using a water to air on my car not air to air. I have a totaly built motor on the engine stand here now, I am planning on 700RWHP and as soon as I can I will work on my own car, my customers come first.

I'm not trying to put Dennis down or trying to make him look bad , Just a simple Question, (His S/C kit his car? ) Why not? I hope I made it simple enough for you to understand this time.

I have been working on Kelly's immaculate 300A since Monday he drove up from Minnesota, he has KVR Brakes Dynotech MMDS 410 Gears rear Stud girdle PI 300 stall ADDCO rear sway bar Meziere pump my exhaust, built transmission with the Art Car deep pan, he has Transmission temperature boost and Fuel pressure and real Oil pressure gauges the boost and FP is on a pillar I will post pictures tomorrow. The car is still on the dyno I worked late, the dyno I use I bought is a Dyno jet but I also spent 6K on a state of the art AF setup it has a six channel CDS module with this I can monitor IAT MAF voltage and Boost, if you look at the Dyno graph you will see on the fifth pass the cars IAT at WOT with almost 10 PSI is 95 degrees, you can't ask for better than that, I will use this exact same setup as for as monitoring the air to air kit I can actually monitor IAT and boost before and after the air to air after cooler to show how efficient or non efficient it is, This car has very little timing in it. Fully capable of making well over 450 RWHP

I have to make a point here,
Notice how smooth the torque and HP curves are in the dyno graphs.
Dennis your "practice" tuning our cars really shows here.Nice work.

Congrats Kelly.

He PM'ed me a couple months ago and asked about possibilities. I told him to make a choice, but I gave him my advice.

Of course I pushed the Trilogy...but its just my personal preference.

Nice numbers Dennis. Very nice numbers.

I have no doubt Kelly will be pleased with the results.

Another satisfied customer!

Dennis, thanks again! You were the only person willing to do the project. You lost a lot of man hours and money building and researching. It was my privilege to hear about how great my car was running. Also, how many folks got a chance to test it out while spending many months at sea.

I know that both of us would be happy to do another project in the future. My situation was somewhat unique since I couldn't drive my car anyway. For someone who can live without their MM for a few weeks it's definitely a great opportunity. Regards, -kjs-

I hope I made it simple enough for you to understand this time.

I understood it fine, and I repeat, look and you'll see what he has done, putting a S/C on his own car is unnecessary. thats what I was saying, did you understand? (by the way its Vortech....not vorteck) :P

Dennis, I am waiting to see what the IAT will be on this setup. That is a good sized air-to-air unit.

Dennis, I am waiting to see what the IAT will be on this setup. That is a good sized air-to-air unit.
Here is what I have planned. I am having bungs welded in on the inlet and oulet pipes on the cooler I am going to map the inlet of the cooler and the outlet this will give a precise IAT and it will show how efficient the cooler is, I can also map the boost the exact same way to show how much boost is lost passing through the cooler if any, the six channel CDS I use is the best you can buy. I can Map Maf voltage inlet and outlet boost as well as IAT.

Great!! Will you have that identical information on the air-to-water intercooler? A side-by-side comparison would be great. (Also in city traffic and repeated runs at the strip.) (I know I am asking for a lot but oh well!)

Last week I finished Kelly's car on the fifth pass the IAT was 95 degrees. The OAT was 75 here. You cannot ask for better than that, yesterday I did tuning on a 03 Cobra every pass we made the car lost power, after four pulls on the dyno the IAT was 180 degrees, of course after letting the car cool down it gained 30 RWHP and 45 FPT but again the car gets heat soaked on the dyno real quick

here is Kelly's sheet

Here is a little update on what we have been doing with the Vortech air to air kit, we have removed the OEM 24 lb injectore coolant reservoir and fan and shroud and the water cross over pipe the kit will come with a new fan shroud and cross over pipe and a different coolant reservoir. I will post pictures of that this week, as you can see its an easy install, you remove the alternator and install two brackets, http://www.mercurygallery.net/uploads/46/altbrkt.jpg

Then we install the blower and new belt, we clocked the blower straight down for now, till I get the after cooler mounted then we will decide on the placement of the air cleaner, http://www.mercurygallery.net/uploads/46/blower-mounted.jpg

I do not just want a conical air cleaner under the hood to suck up engine heat, so I am planning on some kind of cold air set up, this is a huge air to air heat exchanger it fits perfect in the car up in front of the A/C condenser, http://www.mercurygallery.net/uploads/46/aftercooler.jpg

I will post pictures of that tomorrow, we have installed the Cobra 39lb injectors and twin Cobra fuel pump assembly and I am reinstalling the new built transmission tomorrow I will post more pictures later on. I hope every one had a good weekend.

Here is the Cross over pipe we had it powdercoated silver vain black

http://www.mercurygallery.net/uploads/46/crossoverpipe.jpg

Next we added the relocated Coolant resivoir notice we use stock OEM clamps.

http://www.mercurygallery.net/uploads/46/coolant-resivoir-relocate.jpg

Next we started work on mounting the after cooler it fits perfect and goes in excisting holes so there is no need to drill holes in the car.

http://www.mercurygallery.net/uploads/46/angle-bot-view.jpg

I just want every one to know this is the mock up its not the finished mounting, after we get this worked out I will the add the collars for the mandrill 3" tubing right now I am leaning on putting the air cleaner and Maf in the driver fender well, I do not want a conical air cleaner under the hood sucking up hot engine air. I will also put 3/8" NPT IAT fittings on the inlet and out let to map IAT before and after the cooler to map its efficiency.

Tomorrow we are installing the rear engine cooling kit along with the built transmission, after that we will drop the gas tank and install the twin Cobra fuel pumps, after we finish up the after cooler, I will mount the MAF and air cleaner, then we will get the car on the trailer and head to Miami to get the pipes made and jigged up so they can be easily duplicated. I am doing these in black silver vain for this car. Then will get the car on the dyno and look at the numbers.

Why are you going with twin Cobra fuel pumps? I would think for a car under 500 rwhp a single Cobra pump would be sufficient. What brand intercooler are you using? What size diameter piping are you using for the blower and intercooler piping?

Well a single pump in is not enough, we proved it on the dyno and on the street. So you have two choices either add a KB BAP or use the twin Cobra fuel pump assemblies that are proven pumps. So I chose the Cobra fuel pump assemblie. The inner cooler piping is 3" mandril bend.
