Wasn't sure I could take him but . . .

Me and a black Infinity G35 were both zipping through light traffic yesterday, nearly in tandem, so I thought, I wonder if . . . So we both stopped at the next red light, each in our own lane. I never looked at the driver, but apparently, we were both thinking the same thing. The light turned green, and with a light chirp, I was off (we both had decent reaction time). We were neck and neck for the first 100 feet, then as soon as I hit second (shifting automatically, no less), I pulled about two car lengths ahead. I had it floored. He did too from the sound of his exhaust. When I looked back to gloat, he turned right somewhere and disappeared. Made my morning.

I especially like the part where they disappear with their tails between their legs. Makes me laugh. :D

Shooter,

That was the G35 coupe right...no fair picking on the sedan.

I also find this "separate lane" technique to work best !!! BTW, nice kill story and congrats. :D

No fair? We drive 4500 lb. sedans... sounds fair enough to me :)

It's not like we're driving cobras picking on minivans here.. it's sedan on sedan action!

I never knew an Infinity was any kind of challenge for anything.

Another ricer kill! OK, a very expensive ricer, but a ricer nonetheless. Way to go, buddy!

Thanks for the kudos, guys. Yup, pretty darn sure it was the coupe.

I would say that it's completely feasible that you smoked a coupe. I ran against one last night at the drags. He ran 14.659@97.91 (6-speed). You would think that a car that small with that much HP would lay down better times than that.

Way to represent out west! :)

My wife had a run in with an infinity , she said it was the suv type got next to laughing at her .so she nailed it as well as he did and that suv was gone(like a bullet out of a gun) and she couldn't even catch up even superchaged .they do make a supercharger kit for those thingswhich i heard puts them into 10 second street runners..

Strange that you should mention out running a G35. My wife has one that up til now is the fastest thing I have owned since my 1971 SS454 Chevelle. It will be interesting to see if it can stay with the 04 MM DTR that I will be picking up later this week. This will be the most fun that we have had since we raced her 1972 Mach 1 against my 1969 Mach 1 back when we were dating. The young couples that we teach will probably think we have lost our minds. They just don't understand muscle cars.
