Very nice pics!!!!! Thankyou!!!!! But I think you're wrong about it being the 2007. I heard that it's coming out as a 2006 model, no?

Last summer the story was SVT was in hibernation (R&D)till '07.Unless that has been revised.Current Red Carpet lease customers 24 mo. lease on '05's will get you first dibbies on an '07 SVT to purchace or lease ???

Cobra= spectacular car:bows: .I love my Marauder,But the newer blown Cobras are something to behold for a stock streeter. It's amazing that the Cobra and a modified MM could be considered a fair race,I have not seen a race between the two.

I haven't read exactly... but if they keep with tradition (of late) I think we will see this one early next Spring. A 2006 1/2.

I am not going to be able to do a 2007. I will perhaps target a 2008. Have to see what they are asking for them and how my real estate investments go. I AM however starting my campaign right with the House Six (that is military slang for the wife). She always knows that if I put a car as my desktop wallpaper I have more than a passing interest.

Ok... DETROIT GUYS .... and the rest of you MM nuts. I am interested in any press packages, posters, etc. that come out. Please post up if you see something. THe time to get in on this is now!

Yes indeed, this is the turd one.

Todd's thread has been hijacked into a discussion of various roots superchargers as of now.

Incidently, USA Today has photos and a brief article on the Shelby Cobra GT500, along with other peformance cars at the New York Auto Show. The relevant part is a quote from Ford VP of North American product creation, who said that Ford plans only to sell "a few thousand" of the GT500's. Translation: The Ford GT taught us if you make a high demand hot car in limited numbers, not only do you sell out your entire production run, but the dealers are happier than pigs in slop because they can screw customers out of HUGE bucks because of limited availability.

So, even though it may MSRP below 40K, dealers will gouge the hell out of buyers.

Ford Sport Trac Adrealine, as expected, was unveiled. It's one of SVT new vehicles, also claimed to be limited production. The article said no SVT badge will be on any non-Ford brand, which is in conflict with Autoweek. The article did say that SVT would "spice up cars from its other brands" whatever that means.

Two other cars that are cool - the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 will have a hemi V8 AND 4WDl; the Chevy TrailBlazer SS, which will have a 6-liter V-8 derived from the Corvette engine. Should be pretty hot.

Oh, and in other news, Sandra Bullock is dating Jesse James from Monster Garage fame. Wonder if he lets her drive his Marauder?

AAAHH, yes, ofcourse. Probably just like the Ford GT came out kind of mid year in 2004, but it ws called a "2005". So i guess it will be a 2007 after all. Thanks for the correction on that. All this can get a bit confusing. I read something about there being a 2006 SVT Cobra, and that this car we're talking about is something other than that. but perhaps I'm just getting this wrong. Another thing someone said to me was that the Shelby GT500 will have a production quantity of 7,500 per year. So I don't know if that's true, but if it is, then I guess that would be pretty close to the number of Marauders per year. Right?

Billy,

I don't know for sure about the production numbers. On the other points.... there was discussion about a Shelby Mustang... and folks opined it would be live rear axle, 5.8L NA while the 2007 Cobra would be IRS w/4.6 S/C. However, since they call this a joint venture with SVT... I think this IS the 2007 Shelby and Cobra rolled into one.

If they do a limited production run of only 7500 cars... really limits my shot at it! I will be hoping for something in late 2008 or 2009.

Glad to see Ford is putting out some AWESOME performance machines in the last 5 years. 03'-04' Cobra S/C, 01' Bullit Mustang, Ford GT, 00' Cobra R, and of course our 03'-04' Marauder.

I'm betting they've gained alot of reliability knowledge between the 00' Cobra R, and the Ford GT's 5.4L 4V Engines. This should transfer over to the 07' Shelby Corbra GT500.

Great car, but it should just be called a Shelby Mustang. All that Cobra, GT500 stuff is unnecessary.

I agree to a point, IMO it should be called a Shelby GT500.

Yeah...FORD had the audacity to slap the COBRA name on the 1977 Mustang.
Remember the 'COBRA II'???? :puke: ...complete with a 140hp 302 V8! What a joke...

Ah but put a positive spin on it.....

They kept the "idea" alive during the lean years rather than fold the tent.
They could have closed the whole Mustang thing down ala the GTO ... and then reintroduced it ala the GTO .... what an abortion THAT would have been eh?

Nice Ride but the boost gauge only goes to 15 PSI. I guess that's all you need. :burnout:

15lbs of boost on a well tuned '03 Cobra would net over 500 at the crank... I would imagine on teh 5.4 that started out with more to begin with... well... it would be wicked !

BillyGman
03-29-2005, 02:16 AM
15 PSI on a 5.4L from a TWIN SCREW supercharger I'm sure would be 600 HP or more. Look at the 2005 Ford GT supercar. With the Twin screw supercharger that it has on it's 5.4L engine pumping out just 12 LBS of boost, and with the exact same cylinder heads as the new Shelby GT500 will have, the GT supercar is blasting out 550 HP.
