I am installing PHP intake spacer,I removed the small hoses on top of the intake and coolant sprayed out .Do I relieve the pressure else where or just clean up the mess after?I have no instructions and my search only found one thread.Sorry reread that thread answered my question:o

Ouch. Sorry to hear about the coolant. I installed the PHP spacer last night without touching a coolant hose (I hope that was part of answering your own question.
Search old posts using "Paul's Instake Spacer Installed", if you still have problems. Be really careful with the torque on those bolts.
FordNut provides excellent directions that I followed.

Bradley - Wait till the engine cools down. I wouldn't attempt that install when the engine is hot. JMO. When cool you can open the cooling system bleeder to release pressure if any.

No need to break into any coolant hoses unless you're pulling the top all the way off, then the little hoses at the PCV connection have to be removed.

OMG!
You should have asked first.
There is no need to remove anything other than the pcv valve and the 8 or so screws that hold the intake down....
Sorry to hear about the mess however.

Well it's all done.I screwed up and stripped one of the bolt holes:mad: .I was using a torque wrench in inch pounds following the tightening sequence on the diagram but it snapped before it got to 89#'s.I guess I will tap an over size bolt for that one.The only thing I had trouble with the EGR. Starting the two EGR bolts through the thin metal gasket, and only start one till the threads take and then tighten the other. This did take me a while.:o
It also gave me an excuse to adjust my induction system,it was chaffing the hood liner.
I took the barge for a romp.I must have had the testosterone going,I was stopped next to a Mercedes sedan to my left.I glanced over to notice a lady maybe 50's or early 60's smiling at me.I gave her the Big double brow wink and smiled back.As soon as the light changed I ran beside for a few moments and let 'er rip!I know the claim on the gains are very moddest for the spacer.I also agree after the antisipation and install you want to feel some change.
However this does feel like a worthwile mod for the time and $,(I did get a break on the kit)Ford nut's post was very helpful!, thanks Brian!

I agree the EGR valve was the pain in the @#S. I had to use screw driver to pry the valve up in position because of that rigid tube coming off the back of the valve and those bolts were difficult to thread thru the copper gasket.
I to stripped 1.5 to 2 threads on the fastener just forward of the EGR. Just for the heck of it I threw in one of the new bolts provided and I was able to get a snug fit, so hopefully I avoided tapping a new hole.
I'm glad you feel you got a few extra ponies out of the deal. I downloaded one of Lidio's tunes at the same time, so I'll never know how much the spacer was worth on it's own.
If anything it sounds like that spacer attracts the ladies.:burn:

Hey Mard,
Funny ,sounds like we both had the same install pit falls!I too tried one of the new bolts in the same hole you had trouble with, but it was toast:( .I was going to follow the other members advice and tighten the bolts "by feel"but I thought I was super "ace technician" following the torque sequence and specs.;) I did follow Fordnut's R&R instructions ( not to remove entire upper plenum, just simply raise it a few inches,to slide spacer and supplied gasket under the intake plenum.I also pryed the EGR into position with a screwdriver until I had the bolts threaded a bit.Another thing that helped me is to wedge something to keep the EGR out of the way(I used lineman pliers)while you slide the spacer and gasket under the upper plenum.I had a good time doing my first engine mod,Still getting used to our motors being a little soft.:o
As far as attracting the Ladies, That may have been due to the high level of testosterone both myself and my car were emitting.:P Or maybe cause I just washed and modded the Marauder and was out looking to squash someone.:burnout:
