View Full Version : Installed SCT tuner and intake spacer
WOO HOO:banana: Yesterday I received my SCT XCalibrator tuner by Alternative Automotive and minutes ago just flashed the 355 gear tune. Also, received the 410 gear tune (hopefully gears happen next month). Last night I installed the PHP intake spacer.
No test run yet.
I can't wait for it to stop raining so I can back her out of the garage and see what's she got:burnout: .
I'll report back later.

very nice. I've been thinking about getting the PHP intake spacer and the Xcalibrator. As for the 4:10's,... I really doubt it. I know they only add around 200 RPM's at 70 mph, but gas prices are getting friggin' crazy. I thought about getting some 3:73's. but a lot of people say I won't feel any difference. :o
anyway,.. I can't wait to hear the report from your test drive! :burnout:

agreed, i wouldn't bother with the 3.73s. you will notice a difference, but it won't constitute the costs. 4.10s will. you won't lose that much in gas either switching to the 4.10s, especially if you do a lot of city driving. you would lose about 3-5mpg on the highway though.

3-5 mpg translates into 20+% MPG loss. Then add on more loss for other mods and ... I'm with Petrograde, I'm going to see where the prices go as summer arrives. We are already at $2.45 a gallon for 93 here.:bs: :bs: :bs:

From my post in March '03. The before is stock & the after is with 4:10's, UD and chip. OVer 1,000 miles round trip.
"My mileage doing a steady 80 on the trip over was 20.02 and on the trip back was 19.85. Keep in mind I had twice as many WOTs on the trip back and I made twice the number of stops on the way back."

i think the ud pulleys helped counter your 4.10s. when i put on my pulleys, i noticed 2-3 mpg increase during highway travel.
just a thought.
