The other day I was walking back to my car from Wal-Mart and I catch this guy eye-humping my car. I've grown used to this, having a car that is perfect in every way. But then the guy starts....
touching my rims
caressing my rims
violating my rims
I'm far enough away from the guy so that he couldn't hear me say under my breath "What in the hell are you doing to my rims?!" (By under my breath I mean someone 5 feet heard what I said)
The guy didn't notice that I caught him and I didn't confront the guy, because I took it as a compliment and the car was dirty anyway.
But now that I think about it what would possess someone to do that?

He was distracted by shiny things?

He was checking for the style locks you have on them. That way he can be prepared for the next time........
You better go out and check your valve stem caps!! Lost 2 of mine in a parking lot.
I usually goose people like that with a little seranade from the "Panic" button. :)
They jump out of their skin wondering how they set off the car alarm.

If they ask nicely I might let them touch my wife. But touching a man's car without permission could get you hurt around here.

Yup. Zap the bastages. Even if they aren't thieves lining up the next score, they are displaying a total lack of respect for another's property.
I once saw some "groping" between Marty and Donny...but, I guess that's another kind of a story...... :puke:
Whoa, can this thread hold that kind of action?

:flamer: I agree, you should have given him the zap on the panic button. Just hide behind a building or another car and he will think that you really have a sensitive alarm system.

Certainly seems pretty darned odd to me. Looks, OK .... but touchy-feeley, No way. I think that I would have said "What the ... " loud enough for him to hear ... and probably everyone within 100 feet. :D Then I would listen to his embarrassed On-the-Spot tap dancing explanation.

i once saw a shelby cobra pull up at a gas station when i was somewhere traveling. i asked the guy if it was an original or a 'copy'. he said it was an original. it was even signed by shelby.
i asked him if i could touch the car, and he said yes. i will remember that car forever!
it was gorgeous! :burnout:

If you had a REMOTE STARTER installed, you would REALLY scare the bejesus out of him !!
Just think, you wire up your car like Knight Rider 2000.
It starts up and drives away on its own !
I've got a set of Knight Rider lights that I need to install under my bumper.
I want to hook them up to an alarm system.
Any disturbances detected will set off the Knight Rider lights...
what if you caught somebody flossing their teeth using your wheels as a mirror???????????????????

This doesn't help much now, but you probably watched the guy take them.
ALWAYS assume the worst and always confront, which is tough to do - - approaching people you don't know and asking what the :censor: they are doing -- ESPECIALLY if it turns out they were doing nothing wrong.
Check and see if the parking lot has a security cam setup that you can submit to the police. Sure, it's only a few bucks for caps, but that's all the more reason to catch the guy.
Oh, and watch ebay . . ..
