In checking the "Scheduled Maintinance Guide" for both my Marauder and Continental, it says to change the transmission fluid at 30K, 60K, 90K etc for cars with the AX4S, 4F50N, 4R100 and 4F27E transmissions. "Inspect all other vehicles if equiped with a dipstick". Ok. What this is telling me is that the Marauder (with the 4R70W) transmission does not need to have the fluid changed, only inspected.
1. Yes, I will change the fluid often, no matter what the maintinance guide says, but what I want to know is:
2. Question for Techs: What transmission does my Front Drive 02 Continental have?
Scheduled Maintinance Guide for both cars read identical when it comes to transmission fluid change or check. I used to change the fluid often (just before and just after towing, plus whenever I felt like it) on my two 98 Continentals, and never had any transmission problems.
