Well, my OEM tires went 28K. I replaced them with the Pirelli's noted in my sig below. I'm about to turn 58K and need some new ones. I really liked the Pirelli's and they went 30K for me, so I'm going with a set of four again. Almost 300 bucks each at Tire Rack, not counting the installation, alignment, and Road Force balancing that I'm going to get. But hey, you gotta have shoes, right?

I replaced a rear tire last week. Same oem tire at Belle Tire in Farmington Hills, MI. The total charge was $128.00 mounted balenced and out the door in thirty minutes. I don"t think 2000 miles would be worth the difference in cost.

You're probably right about the difference in cost, except that I really like the way these tires ride and handle. I'm no expert by any means, but they feel different to me.

Ross, could you post some pics of your Marauder with the 255/50's. I just wanna know how different it looks if at all, with the same size all the way around.

You don't know how many times I have wanted to post pics of one thing or another, but to say that I am technologically challenged is an understatement! If I could do anything constructive, I wouldn't have become a lawyer! :banned:

I've always liked Pirelli's but $300? Ouch. I noticed you have 255/50 all around. How did this ride? I've got 16K on OEM BFG's and I don't expect them to go much past 20K. I ride backroads a lot and do some hard cornering. Great fun in the MM but hard on the tires.

By the way, Ross. I really like your trailer. So true....

I would never spend $300 bucks apiece on tires myself (my wife would shoot me), but this is a car that the firm is leasing for me, so I charge the tires to the firm as maintenance. After I buy the car next spring when the lease is up, I'll probably start using OEM tires again. I really like the ride with the larger tires all around. Corners great. A little "firmer" ride than the OEM's. That can be adjusted by using less air pressure. I usually run 33-34 lbs. and it's not too firm for me.

Wait a minute, do you charge your mod list back to the company? It comes under Entertainment expenses. I can't wait to be rid of the stock tires. They just do not want to turn!
