Well I got the Bosch blades as suggested. $13.00 each to get out of Auto Zone. They don't carry refills, I had to buy the arms too. I hope they work better than the FoMoCo I'm taking off? Instructions aren't too clear either.

They just clip right on...even I did it...(surprised RF?)

I was thinking about the taking off of the old ones. They don't snap right off do they? I will try a small screw driver. the instructions show a U- shaped device which did't come with the ransom.

Depends on whether you have the crappy ones from the 300A or the 300B which got more "traditional" looking wipers.

My 300A, you just push in the clip at the top and slide off. If 300B, you'll need help from someone else.

Actually, my 300B came with the crappy ones too Todd. I used A/CDelco replacements arm and blade came together. Snap off/Snap on.

Ok I got the cheap factory models off. If I had known how bad they were I would've taken them off the day I got the car. Pure crap. The Bosch snapped right on and look good and work great. Don't wait go do it now.

Try Rain-X and you'll find it makes all the difference. Much cheaper than new wipers.

I did the same thing the day after this post first showed up. The Bosch are great, they do stick to glass above 60 mph, thats a plus.

But tell me, do YOURS leave several funny streak that goes away shortly after the blade swipe?. A co-worker of mine complained of thos as well.

Believe me I will use Rainx with the
Bosch wiper blades. If you look at the factory and the Bosch side by side you will change today. The originals didn't clean even with rainx. The car is an early model bought in June 02.

Same here B-26...300A built 6/02/02...I tried to make the OEM wipers work with RainX to no avail.

I've been REALLY pleased with the Bosch. I can't believe you like the OEMs RC...and, you need them in your neck of the woods.

Those funny looking OEms work great out here, and they are quiet too.

I can see where they wouldn't be so good in snow/freezing conditions

So you can all still send your cheap factory ones to me :)

Keep it that way and you'll be happy with 'em Bugs. And, watch for those overpasses if you happen to get stuck out in a downpour.

I like factory blade too! it seems to work perfect, clean wipe every pass. I've got a 300A, one thing though, pass side blade now parks too high! just started.

Hmm... I dunno. I was just out today and it started to rain/snow. About 34 outside. They didn't do bad, but I had to find just the right speed for them. Even then, I could tell they were starting to freeze up a little right before I got to my destination. I've never had a problem with them in the rain though. So, with the winter season almost over, I think I'll just wait 'em out and make sure that I DON'T want them come spring...

I'm beginning to think that with the opposite ends of the spectrum views on the OEM blades that maybe it's the arm assembly rather than the OEM blades. Hence the "high-set" of the passenger blade for some. I can't imagine anyone being happy with the way mine had performed. And, I was not convinced of the "floppy" feel at each end.

I must say that the first time I got caught going down the Interstate with the OEM blades, I thought they were going to "chirp" off. They drove me nuts a few times again after trying RainX, so I gave up and went to the Bosch. Been happy with that choice ever since.

I love the stock cheap blades. You can send some to me too.

Todd, maybe your problem was the Rain-X I have heard of Rain-x causing poor wiper performance. Part of the idea of Rain-X though is that you don't have to use the wipers most of the time

Someone here recommended the NAPA Teflon blades a while back, and that's what I got...they work great, too.

I use Rain-X windshield washer fluid, as opposed to the stuff in a little bottle that you apply separately. Seems to work as advertised, and I don't have to remember to re-apply it to maintain effectiveness.

Haven't been caught in rain/snow yet but if I don't like the performance of the factory blades I'll buy the Bosch. I never had a problem with the wipers on my 200 GM. John

I thought the OEM's looked kinda wimpy, especially on a "large boned" vehicle like the MM. Was going to change them, then decided they were actually cool, a statement of sorts. I don't even mind that they park funny nowadays

The Bosch do sit high on the windshield but, they work better. Mercury made the decision not to conceal them. It is a trade off or matter of choice. Nothing to fret over. The 5.4 would have fit too if they had put a scoop on the hood etc.
