Hi,
I noticed last night that my doors ('04) on both the driver and passenger side seem to have a "red-light" on the lower portion of the inside panel. My wife has this on her Volvo, when the doors are open, the light turns on. This isn't happening on my MM. Should a light come on or is this cosmetic?
Thanks

That explains that. You know ... the more I look at this car in relation to the price I paid the more I think that FMC was very stingy. Don't get me wrong ... I love my car and would buy one again and recommend it to anyone even knowing what I know now.
It's just the little things like the light in the door panel instead of a reflector, it's a truly functioning oil pressure gauge, a locking gas door, A better sealed trunk so water doesn't get in after a good rain, etc. All these little things individually don't really upset me all that much, but when you put everything together, seems like they really missed the mark here.
In any case, thanks again for your response.

I agree, how much would a remote release fuel door have cost? I don't think the trunk seal is bad , I think it's just a crappy desisign that when you open a wet trunklid all the water pours into the trunk.

I think that's just the curse of a low liftover trunk lid. Most cars have them now adays and they all seem to do it . You end up with a large surface area suspended over the trunk to catch rain water and dump it into the trunk.

Does the factory spoiler make any differance? I don't drive mine in the rain and it is carport kept, so I haven't noticed the problem.

I am not sure if Marauders simply have a reflector lense or, if there is a housing behind that lense that permits the installation of a bulb. I had the former on my P71 and located some red/white lenses w/their bulb housing from a mid-90's Grand Marquis.
For power, just splice into the courtesy/dome lamp wiring that powers the footwell courtesy lamps. The color of the wire should be black w/light blue stripe.

As for the rear door, I installed custom courtesy lamps.

I still have an additional pair of rear doors lamps for sale.

I've always been a strong advocate of "You Get what you Paid For". I'm a very detail oriented person. It just seems that FMC didn't pay attention to details here, especially considering the price.
Realistically, I don't lay awake at night thinking about these things, it's just an observation. For example, they had Gas tank release in some '03s, why remove it from the '04s?
Am I just being too picky? Maybe it's the fact that I hadn't driven my Marauder in almost 2 weeks due to being out of down on business. Male Menopause maybe???

It has been speculated here that they De-Contented the '03s and '04s (i.e. small spare, no gas door release, removed dash clock, no map pockets on the back of the seats, etc) to cover the cost of the traction control.
Personally, I would like to have a place to rest my left foot ... 'cause I have not found a suitable spot in nearly 18 months. I guess the "dead pedal" is the best option but I keep delaying ............ :D

Sounds like you have one of the very FIRST 300B's.
These still had most of the original 2003 300A equippment IIRC.
I dont believe there were many of these ...
Others will chime in I am sure.

MartyO has one as well as several other members of this board. They were built late in 2002.

The one that bugs me the most is the CHEAP
Matrix dot (upper) windshield tint, instead
of the standard tapered dark blue they had for years!
2003 300A's have it, 300B's don't! Cheap...Cheap...cheap
Gotta Love It! :P

I saw that when I drove my Marauder home. I got out to check it . I stated "solor tinted". There are approx. three different windshields listed for the Marauder. They are listed by a time frame.

I agree with you entirely! I LOVE my Marauder! It is definatley not up to the standards I would expect for the price though.
My trunk wasn't sealed well and it was full of water after the heavy storms here. It even soaked the rear footwell. I also had the steering wheel seperation problem, the front end alignment issue, the engine hesitation and the soft shift from 2nd to 3rd. And don't even get me started on that thin paint!
Despite all this, I LOVE THIS CAR! It hauls ass, looks great, is a blast to drive, and turns heads!

I bought a dead pedal off eBay from a Mustang for $10.00 including shipping. Had to modify the kick panel but it works good.
