View Full Version : Alignment Question

When I got my new tires mounted, I had my tire guy, whom I've used for many years, do an alignment. He has aligned my MM before and done a good job.
When I drove away yesterday afternoon, I noticed that the car tracked straight, but that the steering wheel was turned slightly to the right when going straight. Not much, and most people would probably never notice it, but you know how we are about these cars!
Help me out here. I know I need to go back and have this corrected, but what needs to be done to keep the car tracking the way it is now, but get the wheel back to the 12 o'clock position?

Ross, your alignment tech needs to turn one of the tie-rod ends in a little and the other one out by the same amount. This will keep your toe-in the same, but move the steering wheel over...just tell him the wheel's crooked, he should know exactly how to do this...

Thanks, Overlord, I figured it was something simple like that.

The steering wheel should be straight and centered!
To get that...is like hitting the "lotto"!

Gotta Love It! :beatnik:
