They don't do anything that has to do with a Marauder,
unless your Marauder only has two wheels.

Or, you could just paint the emblem black, (as I did) for the effect, yet keep the Mercury emblem intact.

I just recently painted my rear badge using Black Plastic Paint. The only problem is that it's not as shiny as the rest of the car. What paint did you use? Do you have any pics?
I'm waiting for the front grill to see what other people have come up with. I'll surely be repainting the rear one once I get a fairly good match on the color. From far it looks great, only up close no so!
Thanks

I used Krylon "Fusion" paint. It's designed specifically for use on plastic and other "hard-to-bond" surfaces. It worked out great, (I didn't even sand) and I think it looks awesome with a high-gloss finish that matches the rest of the grill very well.
I'll be posting a number of pics within the next few days, (including my new "neon" underbody security lights, (used with factory kit but replaced lights). Just finished today....
Stay tuned.... :)

I would like to do one too.
Anybody got a grill they carved up for their project they don't need?

Ok, here are some pics of my emblem painted black with Krylon "Fusion" for plastic. I thought I'd try this before going the complete modded grill replacement route. We'll have to wait and see how the paint holds up to repeated washings... :dunno: I think it looks great right now though. :)

That looks really good. Nice job. I'm assuming one can pickup this Krylon "Fusion" for plastic pretty much at any home improvement store?
Thanks Again.

I picked up the paint at Advanced Auto Parts, (retail chain). AutoZone carries it as well.

I sprayed mine.... about 6 light coats allowing a half hour between each coat for drying. Yes, it's glossy black.

Follow up:
I washed my MM 3 times this week, (brush carwash) although it didn't need it, (we've had great sunny weather) just to see how the emblem paint would hold up.
It held up great! In fact, it still looks like the day after painting! I'm so tickled. I don't know how long the paint will last on the plastic emblem, but I've seen no signs of deterioration yet. Just passing it along.... :)

The important question is, does Krylon Fusion come in Dark Blue Pearl??? LOL
Look's like "Patriotic blue" in the "Kid's Collection" (That's awfully appropriate for me.. LOL) might be close enough match.

Here's another option. Very easy to do.

Did you take it off the grille, or just mask around it? It's been awhile since I looked at the back side of the grille to see how it's attached. I'm interested in doing the same thing. The part of the emblem that is black is starting to chip, so that needs to be touched up at the least.

There's a single threaded post, with nut, and three "clips". Remove the cover with the screw-off plastic thingeys, then lift the cover up and off, giving you easy access to the rear of the grill and hockey stick emblem. Just remove the nut, and pry the emblem off the mounting plate that's part of the grill. If you wish to do any of the mods to it, ie. god's head, cobra, or anything else, it's very easy to grind away the shiney stuff, down to the black part, with a Dermel tool, then fill it with epoxy, set in whatever emblem you chose, then paint the epoxy. We're talking less than an hour's work, start to end. :)
