Ok, so over the weekend I am in the garage getting ready to jump into the Mountaineer and head out when all of a sudden I see the headlamps, tail lamps, and interior lamps come on in the Marauder. I keep the keys in the ignition so I did not have them in hand, nor did I push the door code buttons. Has anyone else run across this, and if so what was the remedy to fix it? Thanks,

They just randomly came on as you were pulling out?

Did you try your Mountaineer remote a few times to see if it was affecting the Marauder keyless entry? I've seen remotes from different vehicles having that affect, especially from the same make of car.

Nope, I did not have any keys in my hand. I hadn't even opened the door to the Mountaineer yet. It was the wierdest thing that I ever saw. I now wonder how often this happens and if that is why my battery was stone cold dead when I went to fire it up a few weeks ago.
By the way guys, check your home owners policies. A lot of them will not pay if your cars are left in an attached garage without the keys in them and fire breaks out.

Suppose the keys are in the Ign and the doors are locked ???

So obvious. It was signalling it's jealousy that you were leaving in another car.:alone:

^^^Yep^^^.
It was jealous, or you woke it up and it misses you. Did it wag it's tail when it saw you? ;)

It still could have been someone else's keyless remote nearby your home - Or.......like the rest have realized - the Marauder's Conditioned Response.
Oh, I forgot to ask, did you notice if the door lock unlocked also?

Considering the dead battery, it could be you may have a short in either your ignition system or the keyless remote on the door or your hand held remote.
Might even be related to leaving your keys in the ignition for an extended time. May be normal, another function that :bandit: (manual) didn't mention.
Other possibilities:
1. An animal in your garage that likes to jump on and off the car via the key pad on the door.
2. Casper the  <?xml:namespace prefix = v ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml" /><v:shape id=_x0000_i1026 style="WIDTH: 12pt; HEIGHT: 12pt" type="#_x0000_t75" alt=""><v:imagedata o:href='\\\\\\"http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/images/smilies/mad.gif\\\\\\"' src="file:///C:/DOCUME~1/Owner/LOCALS~1/Temp/msoclip1/01/clip_image002.gif"></v:imagedata></v:shape>ghost.
3., your in the twilight zone. (been there before, more times than I want to disclose)
