I was at opening day at Da Grove 1/4 track and I ran into SargentMac. Pretty cool guy and two people with Marauders were there and they both were blown. Mac's and this guy I met months ago named Tommy. He let me run his car down the track and I ran a 13.8@101mph. I couldn't get any traction off the line and the car has run 11.97 before. Anyway the only question is my Blazer keeps back firing again. I can get it to do it on command usually around 4000RPM. It has a 350 small block and a carb. It ran 16.0 before and now with 200 less pounds and exhaust cut offs it only ran 16.6 at best. When I drive the thing for an hour it will be fine until it starts back firing repeatively. I'll pull over for one exact minute and it'll be fine for another hour. This is doing 85. If I go faster or slower when traviling long distances it will back fire every 20 minutes. What the heck is going on?

I followed up representing us on Sunday.I can't say I ran 12's all day like the Big Boys, but their was a guy with an SS Impala that was still wary of Marauders from what he had seen the day before. He did not look interested in tradeing any info with a Marauder guy.:o

That must be the dude who want's to sue me 'cause he choked on my tire smoke. Since that's all I left behind on Saturday, no reason to be wary of me. My ETs sucked, but my MPH in the traps tells me to hang in there, better days are ahead.

Dominic, I think you have a valve/lifter problem, get a full compression/leak down test before installing your Weiand blower, eh?

Sorry I was not able to not see the Impy choking on your smoke:P

Believe me Mac!, when I tell you,You left a lasting impression with this guy,When I approached him he looked at me as though I was going to shake him down! When he realized I was not you from the day before he looked very relieved:o
I talked with several regulars that run 9's & 10's and they concured that the track is not allowing anyone to hook that well! They both said they come out in the warmer weather when traction is fine!:burnout:
Can't wait till next time!:banana2:

I heard it could now to 2 other possible things. The Carb or ignition. And yes I plan on getting it tested before the installation so I don't blow up the motor......... again :D I'll be back next saturday unless things are really bad. My Marauder should be back in 2 weeks, but I have been told that for 6 weeks now. I think the body shop is driving it around! :mad2:
