I would like to add an Autometer electric temp guage to my guage panel. A quick look around did not reveal any openings into the cooling system for the sender. I would prefer to leave the factory sender in place and the factory guage functional. I'm sure someone has done this already, how about it? Do I need to weld another bung into the crossover tube, or is there a simple solution?

I'll ask my installer about this. I've seen the sending unit, and it's near or on the hose connection at the bottom of the radiator where coolant circulates into the radiaor. I also have a functional OEM gauge in the dash. Here's a shot of my gauge:

Very nice! That's the way I want to do mine.
