Hey everyone north of the 49th!

I just picked up my MM on Monday and I wanted to see if it's the same as all the other Canadian MMs out there. Apparently we don't follow the same 300A/300B rules as the U.S. cars. Here's what it has:

Long overhead console
Traction control
pockets on the front and back of the driver/passenger seats
six disc changer
small spare tire
clock in the dash
heated mirrors
metal grilles on the rear speakers

Anything I'm missing? Also, here's a weird one, I think. On the driver's side coil cover I have the "Inntech 32v V8" plaque, but not one on the passenger side. Is this correct?

Thanks,

I believe the coil covers are correct.

So it is only supposed to have one? Weird.

What is the difference between a Canadian or US MM? Did you Canadians keep the few good ones and send all the junk ones down here? Seriously though, aren't they all the same except maybe killometers on the spedo?

Yea, the speedo is different, but they were also all ordered with the same options. They came out between the 03 300A, and the 03 300B, so they have many of the pre-decontented options, such as map pockets and remote fuel door.

All have the mini-spare, CD changer, full overhead console, metal speaker covers etc. And traction control.

For me, the only choice I had when buying one was light flint or dark charcoal interior. At the time, the website said they came in Blue exterior, but the dealer lied and said they didn't. I've heard of only a couple that are blue, and one member in Calgary has seen a DTR '04 which must have been a special order. The dealer I went to had 3, I bought 1 and there is still a brand new 03 sitting on his lot, 2 years later. :(

What would it take to buy a Canadian MM and take it to the states?

You have to register it for 6 months in Canada, as export duties have not been paid on it.

Then you can export it.
