Team Legal Knevil is busy getting my car dialed in for FFW in Atlanta this week, so as some of you may know, we had the car to the 1/8 mile track this past weekend to work on shifting/driveability/etc.

I got to make a few passes and definitely need some practice with the new combo. God, I haven't had stage fright like this since my first year in the courtroom!!

So far we have not run the car on slicks, but have been using the Nitto drag radials at about 17 to 18 lbs. psi.

My best 60 foot time was 1.81 and I hazed the tires pretty good in doing that. My buddy Aric got 60 footers in the 1.71 range and he had a lot going on watching the data logger and all.

I expect when my boy Jeff (Shankin) gets his turn we will see a further reduction in the 60 foot times.

What are you guys seeing with your 60 foot times?

Man you guys are scaring me. You can put up over 400 posts on a thread that has been to "Buttermilk" and back and no one wants to talk about racing?

Geez, if it weren't for Menace, this place would be known as "Deadsville"....

Stock, best I ever got was 2.153 with nothing more than a reprogrammed computer, headers and gears. Not quite what you're looking for.

My best 60' time is 1.967 on stock tires with 35 lbs. of air and moderate wheelspin. I do not drop tire pressure to get a timeslip.

And, just for the record, I like to think of myself as being just as "exciting" as Menace.

I am no where even close to your league as far as power, but I can attest to the fact that it doesn't take massive power to make this car break loose even at the best treated track. There is a limit at which it happens to all us. And come to play when one likes to mess around the track.

My best 60' time I have ever pulled is 1.91

That's no where near what s/c'd cars do, but I still pull hard with my setup and break loose a bit.
My key....: Tires. For me it's all about the tirage I use.

The M/T's by far hook the best. I can only assume that once you get all your traction issues corrected so that your builders start to run consistantly better times....so will you. You'll learn your car all over again. The key is to take some time to do so.

Get that car back in your garage and drive it regularly!!!

By July, you'll be the Marty I remember chasing after, back in Ennis. Fastest N/A Marauder in the country!

Yep, until that bastage Billy stole my title and made me build the Monster I am trying to tame now! :D

By the way, I spent some time driving the car this weekend. Every time I get seat time, I feel more and more confident driving the car, so I do agree with you.

This Thursday we have a private test and tune session scheduled at FFW in the ATL and that is where (weather permitting) I hope to get some practice launching and then hanging on for dear life at the big end!

Hey Marty, I think is great that The Beast and you are spending some quality time together :D Actually I been waiting with great interest to hear news about how your car is coming along...being from the South I felt it would not be polite to be nosy...so I wait for you to tells us, 1.71 sixty foot is fantastic, congratulations. My best 60' is 2.15...try not to laugh.:)

Marty:

1.81 sounds great to me. My best is 2.08 with OEM tires. Hopefully, I can do better with the Nitto 295s. See you Friday. (Give me 2 seconds for lunch!)

Translation: Todd and I drove around Marietta scaring the poop out of the general public.

I drove behind Marty and Legal Knevil from the track on Saturday night as we went out to eat (or was that to enjoy a Sanna?) Marty got on it a few times.

It was like this:

Todd (NA, Kooks) WaaaaaWaaaWAAAwaaa

Marty:WAAAAAAWAAAA

Donny (NA, Cobra Headers): Pffffft!waaa, waaa Pffft

I had to stop to clean out my shorts and see if he blew my wiper blades off.

Then there's the blinding Lights he has under the car that shine back and freak you out. Not really. It's his bling exhaust hanging down and your headlights reflect back off them. Pretty cool, actually.

It's great seeing that your dream is now a reality---the times are fantastic and , from the comments of those present, LK is a force to be feared by the elite few. Treat him right and he won't let you down--I'll be cheering for you this week-end. Maury  :banana2:

! LOL.....oh sure....blame me!!!!!

anyway, since you've asked, my 60 foot times are 1.65 seconds, and a few 1.66 second ones too. Two were accomplished in 70 degree weather, and two were in the upper 40's. My 330' time is 4.904 seconds, and my usual 1/8th mile time is 7.65 seconds. Those times were done on Nitto drag radials. I've never ran slicks. I would be cool to see how much better I would do, but I'm afraid of busting drivetrain parts with slicks. But I think that you'll have to run slicks Marty.

I'de have to agree with BIlly on the slicks. Can't get the low ET's if you can't hook up. :)
