Today I installed my 255/55/18 KDW2 G-Force T/A Tires and in the process I dropped the rear 1-2 inches. I wanted the fenders to sort of "hug" these large fat meats. Pictures below:

I don't know who did this, but I thought it looked cool.

Tire wear - 35 psi for 10k, 4.5k @ 40 psi

I have not decided if I like the lowered rear nor have I driven it enough to see if it will rub on certain bumps, corners, or a combination of the two. But I think at a stand-still, it looks pretty schweet

OK...bear with me as I have been drinking....:P

If the new tires are 55mm tall and the old tires were 55mm tall...why is the car lower....

OH, BTW...those KD2'S look really nice. Can't wait to hear about the long term tire wear. Gottaq be better than the poor design of ours.

They are not 55mm tall. They are 55% of the width of the tire.

I've been drinking and I have no idea what any of you are talking about.... 55% of what?
The new tires look cool though! :2thumbs:

I adjusted the air suspension sensor to get it lower, I didn't mean the new tires made the car lower.

That's kind of a lot of tire for an 8" wide rim, is it not? Love the tread pattern, though.

comparing the tires it didn't look any wider  only taller by an inch or so

Yeah, I guess it's only 10mm more. That's not so bad. Just seems to "buldge" a bit in those pics.

Those tires are nice! I wish I had not bought the extra OEM rears when they were on sale. Did most of the center wear on the OEMs come before you increased the pressure to 40 PSI?

Yes, I moved it to 40 psi and it slowed it down a little.

Just FYI for those that might do this in the future:

To keep your speedometer and odometer accurate during the tire swap you should change your "Tire Revs Per Mile" in your programmer. I have the diablosport and I can adjust this parameter.

OEM 245/55/18 = 704.922 Revs Per Mile

NEW 255/55/18 = 694.411 Revs Per Mile

I must be the only one who likes the rear higher. I *raised* mine 1/2" and the ride quality went way up.

-AI've never understood the attraction of the "slammed" look. IMHO the Marauder is fine stock. I did lower my ZX3, but that was for handling purposes and then only 1.25 inches with progressive rate springs. I guess its what ever floats your boat, um, Rauder ...
